Prince of Persia®: The Sands of Time (-80%)
For many of us, the young Prince was the first husbando to fall for – following his adventures throughout many games, in the midst of the desolate sands of ancient Persia. We watched as the legendary tale unfolds, whispered in an age-old language; the game, after all, recounts an era defined by bloodshed and treachery. Throughout the gameplay, intrigued by the ominous allure of a mystical dagger, a youthful Prince succumbs to temptation, unwittingly unleashing a malevolent force upon a once-glorious kingdom. Guided by the enchanting charms of a captivating princess and armed with the extraordinary abilities bestowed by the Sands of Time, the Prince embarks on a perilous quest to reclaim the cursed chambers of the Palace and restore tranquility to his war-torn homeland. Are you ready to relive it?

Tomb Raider: Underworld (-89%)
While some of us had their hearts stolen by the Prince, many others couldn’t take their eyes off the legendary Lara Croft. As beautiful as she is powerful, we have a chance to see her in yet another well known installment of the game – Tomb Raider: Underworld, which marks a significant leap forward in exploration-focused gameplay. Embarking on daring expeditions, the intrepid explorer Lara Croft fearlessly traverses enchanting and diverse destinations across the globe. Every location is meticulously crafted, showcasing an exceptional level of detail that translates into stunning high-definition graphics, immersing players in a remarkably realistic and captivating world. This heightened visual fidelity not only presents a visually breathtaking experience but also introduces an enhanced level of difficulty and grants a greater freedom to face challenges and make choices like never before – but are you brave enough to join Lara?

Monster Prom 2: Monster Camp (-50%)
While you might find it difficult to decide between the Prince and Lara, worry you not – this title has something for everyone. Monster Prom 2: Monster Camp is, as well as its preceder, a charming LGBTQ+ dating simulator, with a twist. It brings in the summer camp setup, with various characters available to romance; all in an absolutely adorable art style. You’ll get to choose your own adventure and get all the way to your special someone’s heart before anyone else does, take personality quizzes to determine your stats, get into all kinds of funny and absurd situations to seduce your sweetheart and find out more about yourself than you, or your friends, ever knew. Sulibor: Husbandos & Waifus? I am starting to feel a bit uneasy...
Who TF is running this company? Sex starved I am guessing.
I personally don't care what they call their sales, as long as they keep having sales. There are many things to complain about when it comes to GOG, but this really isn't one of them.

RafaelRamus: Husbandos & Waifus = game on sale is freaking Mortal Kombat!
As if no 12 year old ever lusted after some of those swimsuit ninjas, or thought of them as "waifus".

Tact is what is missing. I swear that a bunch of 12 yr olds are the ones running the show. There is a way to do such things strategically.

Even then, the never ending sale after mediocre sale tactic takes away anything special about sales and just leads to fatigue and apathy.

Am I misunderstanding something or are you actually complaining about sales now? Sales are good. They're not "never-ending" either. Every week a different set of games get discounted. Some might overlap, of course, but most will not.

Breja: When I see stuff like this I wonder who this store is even for these days.
I mean what demographic they are targeting, cause I'm definitely not their target audience anymore.
"
Yeah, at first I thought this would be just another "Anime/JRPG" sale, but then I scrolled down and saw "Tomb Raider" and "Prince of Persia".
That's when I started to feel a little confused...
If they are strugglig finding new themes or names for their sales they should just call them "surprise sale" or "random sale" or something like that. "The most lovable characters", "Husbandos and Waifus sale"... seriously, that's beyond cringy. Who the hell are they targeting with such stuff?

Point is that there's a constant stream of overlapping sales that are hard to keep track of and which tend to feature the same prices for most games, and many games repeat quite frequently, so there's little notable about sales, you just know that the price at which a game should be bought is its regular sale price and if you want it you get it when it next comes up at that price, which makes the stream of separate sale announcements and pages more of a nuisance than anything, and unlikely to be used to discover potentially interesting titles.
Most of the time by now, for these regular sales, they should probably stick to a generic announcement, here's a list of games added on sale today and this is when they stop being on sale, having that info on game pages too, ensure that selecting to only see discounted titles actually does display all discounted titles and no undiscounted ones, and preferably also allowing to sort titles by curent sale end and start times, and only set aside titles that are at historic low prices, and actually do take care to point those out each time, that'd be useful. And when they do have a sale that really does have a particular, special theme and occasion, that could get a nice feature article and feel special again.
Never thought the title of a sale could be so dumb that I couldn't even be bothered to check out the games. I feel as though buying a game from this sale will somehow taint it.

I know complaining about "too many sales" is easy to make fun of, but at least from my point of view (and apparently at least some other users like ReynardFox) the sales on GOG have become downright dysfunctional. There are so many, and (unless I'm entirely wrong) they do tend to constantly overlap, and the individual sale's pages are arranged terribly now, keeping track of what is on sale, and how long it will be on sale for has become a chore. Even using the wishlist to help is a broken option, since sorting it by "discounted" produces a jumble of discounted and not-discouned titles alike. It certainly doesn't help that titles like this not only seem grating to at least some users here, but also are not in the slightest helpful (quite the contrary in fact) in discerning what games are actually part of the sale.

Dohi64: wrong 'special sale' thread.
Ooops. Indeed. Thanks. Fixed.

We've got to a point where publishers already inflate game prices knowing they will sell more on sales. Nowadays it's like "wow, game is 1 year old and no sale yet!" - which shows sales nowadays are mostly the correct price of the game.
