Sachys: Conan! What is best in life?

monkeydelarge: To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
NO! Conan, that is not right.

To promote your film, to appear in as many ridiculous commercials as possible and to promote your film. That is best in life!
I heard back and forth things about John Milius directing. I want him to direct, then I'll be interested.

I doubt it. He hasn't directed a movie since 1991. Although George Miller did prove that everything is possible.

I think with the George Miller example, they should be clamoring to get John Milius back on the project. But I doubt it too.
John Milius' Conan was a rather peculiar movie, with a legendary soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. Mr. Terminator was just part of a much larger equation for success. Poledouris is dead for good and Milius hasn't directing anything for a while now, so I fear you will ALWAYS get your usual, Hollywood-grade fantasy bullcrap while dealing with Conan like in the recent movie I dare not to cite here to restrain the puke...

Conan the Librarian!
Hopes are low..
My short list of directors I think would be good for Legend of Conan (other than Milius)

-Kenneth Branagh - remember the Hamlet scene from Last Action Hero? Well, let's go this! No, seriously though, Branagh is one of the best directors alive, and I think his shakespearian roots could serve him well here. After all, Conan also has a certain hightened language to it, a certain theatrical quality. Somewhere between the epic fantasy of Thor and stories of kings and wars in Henry V and Hamlet there is the story of King Conan.

-George Miller- Fury Road is the best example, if not only, proof that going back to an 80's franchise like this can work. If we can't follow his example in full and get Milius back, why not Miller? You'd be hard pressed to get someone with more credibility among both critics and audience to spearhead a project like this right now. Granted, the style of Conan and Mad Max are very different, but not more so than Mad Max and Happy Feet. Miller is nothing if not versitile.

-Guillermo del Toro- I would love to see Conan's world brought to life by del Toro. It would be very different than the original, but maybe that's better than someone trying to copy the original without his own vision.

IronArcturus: Conan the Librarian!
I came in here to demand that movie be made. Not to mention Rabbi PI. Where Arnold goes under cover as a Hasedic Jew.
