aw how depressing. :(

the only reason offhand I can think of offhand for gog to restrict gifting like this is that maybe it's because they signed on someone who got the rights to distribute certain games in other parts of the world (I can't help but think that Bamco is to blame, or maybe Konami since IIRC MGR is cross region restricted on gifting)

I suppose I'd be interested in Spellforce, if there isn't anyone else who wants it.
.
So long and thanks for all the fish. So sad it has come to this.
I'm in for Spelunky. This whole "gifting restrictiomns" thing boggles my mind.
thank you sinistar

Getcomposted: Incidentally, what are your thoughts as to when the next Insomnia sale will be? I'm thinking it might even be the next big sale - Autumn Insomnia has a nice ring to it, methinks.
Yes, I think if one is on the cards then it will be in Autumn. The Return Of The Revenge Of Fall Insomnia. :)
Thanks a ton, once again! Very happy to own UU.

toxicTom: The problem is, with many of the positive people (like you!) leaving or at least heavily reducing their time here, the negative people automatically get the upper hand :-(
I was informed that you were the one who gave Sinistar the UU gift in the first place, so thank you as well. :)

Its own soul, I am afraid.
:( That's a real shame, IAmSinistar. I understand that this move might affect the strength and dynamism of the community but know that one way or another, the regulars and newbies like myself, will continue to come here and share some great time as it has always been for me whenever I log here and read you. I would like the chance to try Red Faction on PC as I had some great memories playing it on PS2 and getting amazed at how cool GeoMod was and still is. Let's continue writing and replying to many posts in this forum, and never give up! :)

Thank you for your exemplary behaviour and camaraderie.

I see Legend of Grimrock hasn't gotten any love. If no one else wants it, then I'd like to have it.
While sad to see this, I think it was expected. I'm assuming GOG saw a lot of codes being bought from cheaper regions and being redeemed in more expensive regions. Probably some people made nice money on sites like kinguin and g2a. If the numbers were significant enough I doubt they had a choice. It's not just that they were loosing money, but how would it look to prospective new publisher signings?

And then if you take into account that, when people complained about scammers and stuff like that, the GOG staff suggested that less giveaways be made, I'm actually surprised they didn't do this earlier. To bad they did it in poor form and did not communicate properly. I don't know what happened with them letting TET go, but it's clear he is sorely missed.

Anyway, I'll enter my name in for Jade Empire.
Thank you for the gift. I hope you'll still hang around the forums, it's not worth losing a good person over all the bad stuff going on here.
Not in, but thanks for the generous giveaway my friend! +1

It's a sad day indeed. I believe it all started with this damn regional pricing. Blocking gift codes makes only sense if they're abused and I can only think of one major issue: Resellers buying rather high-priced games for low regional prices and selling them for profit at a significant scale. That'd hurt GOG's business. My question is, how on earth is this the community's fault and why do we have to take the blame for it? Well, it's a rhetorical question. Thanks for the good news GOG.
