trentonlf: Cool Avatar!!

On another note I guess I should watch the movie "Godfather" at some point. Seems to be one of those "classics" that might be worth it.
Just make sure that when that "some point" comes you've got nth pressing to do for the next three hours. ;-)

stg83: Sacre Bleu! you've seen The Last Airbender movie and haven't seen one of the best movies ever made The Godfather yet? 0___o
I find with older movies that have been raved upon and I watch them I'm usually disappointed because they were built up and the payoff was only ok. The Godfather has such high praise that I don't know if it could live up to it, but I'm willing to watch it soon to see. Once I do I'll let you know what I think.

Don't expect geeky/nerdy things with this movie. You have to have a serious adult mind watching this. And you have to pay attention. I barely payed attention when I first seen it, but since I got more patient It was worth it. Watch that movie and Part 2 the only seequal to ever win an oscar for best picture of the year.

I was just mimicking the over reaction of people when you tell them that you haven't seen a particular classic movie, for example I hadn't seen The Blade Runner, The Road Warrior or even The Shawshank Redemption for a long time after they were released. ;)

You're correct that some of the classics don't really live up to the huge hype surrounding them but The Godfather when I finally watched it had me engrossed from start till finish, so hopefully it will meet your expectations when you eventually watch it as well. :)

I expect no geek or nerdy things from the movie. What I expect is to see some crime boss who runs the family and what it takes. So in my mind it's only a so so premise anyway, but maybe I'll think different afterwards.

Do you like Quintin Tarantino;s Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction? If so I highly recommend you watch Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas and Casino
Watched Pulp Fiction, was ok. Watched Goodfellas, mediocre for me. Have not seen Casino or Reservoir Dogs

trentonlf:
Casino is alot more funnier, and alot more shocking. Its sort of Goodfellas 2.0 as in its alot bigger. And its story is adapted from a true story meaning they took liberties. So most plot elements are fictitous. I personally love Casino more than Goodfellas. It was the climax of the De Niro/Pesci Trilogy.

Reservoir Dogs is Tarantino's least whacky movie. But its memorable in its own right.

I like all of Taratino's movies I've seen, especially Django unchained and From Dusk till Dawn. Did not realize casino was one of his, will add it to my list of movies to see.
Or is Casino a Scorsese's movie?

Heh....I disagree. I know a lot of immature, idiotic, juvenile-minded chumps who claim to love the Godfather movies.

I do happen to like the first film, but saying one needs to be a "serious-minded adult" to watch the films is like saying one needs to be a man to play professional sports. It's simply not true.
Hiya all peeps!

Well I assumed since no one here or any other geek communities like The Escapist or Cinemassacre or even Nostalgia Critic and Moviebob seems to not discuss movies like the Godfather or even There Will Be Blood or Citizen Kane. They all like geeky big budget blockbuster movies like Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR. Robocop,Matrix, etc.
