Hi all, I'm not sure If I meantioned this before or not? Anyway, there was an old "Jack The Ripper" game. I think it came out on CD and was for DOS / Windows 95. I'm wondering why this game has never come to be on Good Old Games?

Producer: Intergalactic Development Inc.
Publisher: GameTek, Inc.
Year: 1995

I played this game some time ago and found it quite enjoyable, but also frustrating. I think there was something to do with copy protection that was making sure I was killed early on and repeatedly. Seems to me (I read) the player needed the CD inoder to play the game? This is the Ripper I'm talking about - from Moby Games. You can see the pictures at the link I added above.

This game is still selling anywhere from $15.00 to $30.00 on eBay and other sites. I'm surprised that it hasn't showed up here. Why not this game GOG?

Thanks!

Waits for HunchBluntley to link his usual post explaining why X game from Y company has yet to be released here.

Well Ubisoft is here:

I don't see any Gametek or InterGalactic Development works though.

I see exactly one mention of the jack the Ripper game:

And that was from you three years ago. :)

Grargar: Waits for HunchBluntley to link his usual post explaining why X game from Y company has yet to be released here.
[waits for Grargar to throw down his usual facts about the likely reasons for this specific game, eg: publisher being unwilling/rights being fractured/game not running so well/etc.]

EDIT: Well, here's that link anyway.

EVEN EDITTIER: Oops, wrong link! ;P Here's a more helpful one.
And, for a limited time*, a special bonus link where erstwhile GOG Marketer Guy TheEnigmaticT mentions a bit about acquiring old games: LINK (Look for post #3401; sorry, direct links tend to not work in threads that long)

*Offer ends when forum shuts down or GOG breaks the link

Wasn't that game released on 9 CDs?
I can vaguely remember something like that from way back, never had it myself though.

No, you're probably thinking about another game with similar name - Ripper - https://www.mobygames.com/game/ripper
And it was "only" 6 CDs. :p

Ahh, thanks.

I definitely want both of those on GOG!

Can those wishlist entries be merged?
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/ripper

The only thing I know about the game is that it has Christopher Walken chewing gum forever.

And that alone is reason enough for me to want the game. BAD!

Can they be? Absolutely. Will they be? Probably not.

HunchBluntley: Probably not.
^^That.

I've been trying to clean up the wishlists a bit. Not seeing anyone following up.
I remember nearly nothing anymore about Reaper (except Walken) but I will never forget the title song (which unfortunately is muted in the youtube links for the game but here it comes):
