Brian Moriarty, author of the 1990 adventure game Loom, seems to be suffering from a very serious case of nostalgia (like many of us).
During a recent conference, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the game, he said that he would love to make a sequel and clearly asked for help to cure his illness: «[...] there are now three studios who I would entrust with the sequels: Telltale, Double Fine and Wadjet Eye. Talk to me. I’m on the make.»

Please, help this poor man with his problem!

Hmm... of these, I'm more in favour of Double Fine at this point, and least for Telltale. Thought Wadjet Eye makes nice low-resolution "pixel" artwork and are very capable of making interesting games, I am rather more interested in how a 3D interpretation (well, sequel) of Loom would behave.

Wadjet Eye seems to be the most realistic option, he could do it almost all by himself, with a little help from Dave Gilbert & friends. With Double Fine it would look great but cost an arm and a leg and the release would be delayed infinitely, and then it would get flak for being totally unlike the first Loom and not as great as Psychonauts. ;)

I'm not in favor of Telltale either.

I'd prefer to first buy the original here, but anyway:
- Telltale --> no, it would become the usual QT game.
- Wadjet Eye --> not sure if they could match a LA game standards.
- Double Fine --> people haven't been very happy with Broken Age..

So..?

I agree with the first part, let us buy the original game here. It is (or was) on Steam, so really Disney should have brought it here by now.

Second
Wadjet Eye - I would actually rather Wadjet Eye have a shot. There games are no Mona Lisa to look at, and the stories can be a little lack luster at times, but the games and puzzles are solid. So if he wrote and produced the story / script to join with the original then they could just do the game. It could really turn out well, and if both have a complementary art style it could even feel like a quality sequel from that bygone time of point and clicks.
Double Fine - They seems to be a company with an identity issue (Tim Schafer) and financial problems (also probably Tim Schafer and his need to be in the public eye). Yet they still make good games, so it is not all bad.
Telltale - These guys make really good games / story books (and I wish they would come here). Yet I am rather ummm about them doing point and clicks any more. They have done much better with the storybooks, and I think they should just continue there personally.
Telltale might turn Loom into some kind of basic version of Guitar Hero so Wadjet, please. If Wadjet can publish a Loom sequel in the same quality as Primordia, I'm all game!

So, you're evil and don't want him to be cured!

No, seriously, which studio you'd like to develop the project? Revolution software?

I think we'll end up seeing it this year.
