And some more Portal songs, just in case someone didn't know them yet:

Aperture

Wheatley

and lots more in this playlist.
Yeah Portal 1+2 are great, knowing Valve that is probably all we're ever going to get as they still haven't learned to count to three.

Tsk tsk tsk, we all know the turrets lacked the top hats to make the ending perfect.

paladin181: It wasn't out of place. GLaDOS, now with the opportunity to finally rid itself of Chell, does so. Realizing that recapturing her in the first game was a mistake, it just wants her gone in any way shape or form. The turrets are thankful that they and their brethren aren't forced to be test subjects any longer and that something of a status quo has been restored. The ending makes PERFECT sense after GLaDOS' speech about how killing Chell is hard, JUST GO. And the lyrics of the song, which Jonathan Coulton once again just hit the nail RIGHT on the head.
It's not the premise of the ending I don't like, it's the execution :P
Both Portal games were amazing. But like Strijkbout said, Valve's numerical skills don't extend all the way to three. The odds of a third game are pretty small. Valve are only really concerned about Steam and their microtransaction-centric hat simulators at the moment.

With this ending I don't even know how they could go about a third installment. Maybe not with Chell, but someone else? Or another clone of her? :)
The ending does slightly underestimate the time the portal gun's shot would take to reach the moon. I expect they explain it away somewhere saying its speed increases exponentially as it travels, but I didn't notice it anywhere.

I don't actually remember if it was ever established how do portals travel. Or if they travel at all. Maybe if you point the device and push a button the device just opens a hole on that surface, regardless of distance.

EDIT: No, wait, I'm stupid, it's clearly some kind of projectile since you can't shoot through a fizzler. :D

They'd just retcon the ending (and force-patch Portal 2 to that effect).

Standard modus operandi.

Oh yeah... they can do that. Ah, the wonders of technology :D
Playing as GLaDOS trapped in an organic body (not a potato) strikes me as an oddly interesting prospect.
