People just don't know that 2FA can be done via e-mail. Phone number is not necessary.

If someone has that email for all their 2FA then as soon as that's gets hacked it's a lot easier to grab everything else for starters.

And don't write your passwords in a notebook and put in a drawer, because as soon as they break into your house they have all your passwords too.

Just use 2FA on your email too! (via another email address e.g.)

Exactly and email 2FA is doing that to them because most regular people aren't using multiple email servers.
