Hello!

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6KCjecS3J0

Amazon is going to release a cloud gaming service; or as I'd like to call it, "not this again". The service lets you play games across multiple devices. They are advertising 4K/60 FPS. The starting price is $6 USD/month. It looks like each publisher would have its own "channel". Ubisoft will be one of the day 1 options. You get the option of using M/KB, or the objectively better input, a controller. If you buy the Switch/Xbone knockoff Amazon Luna brand controller, you also get Alexa support. I have no idea why you would need it, but whatevs. What do you think?

Edit: I forgot to mention the Luna controller would be selling for $50 USD.

you mean fifteen mile wide iron core asteroid.
Once they force us to go subscription only, my backlog is thankfully long enough that I would be able to continue the hobby without looking for new stuff.

Poor kids though.

My kids will inherit my collection...

I guess persuasion can convince them to avoid the subscription cancer. And the carrot of the shared backlog.
I think the Titanic of Stadia already blew a bunch of holes and shows the worst of the idea in general, and we are already going in based on those expectations.

But unless you have super fast internet the timing and quality is always going to be less than local hardware.

I think Luna is going to find the same grinding halt (just faster) than Google did.

... I don't need a controller or a game streaming service to run around in the house and jog down the street.
Another cloud-based gaming/streaming bullshit, nothing new or barely interesting to see here...
Im on Stadia's side, thats what I gotta say. Stadia is gonna be obvious winner, if they manage to find a way to work with YouTubers. YoutTubers can put your game in front of millions of players in matters of hours.

Since when is a controller a better input device? That was the best joke i heard today. And amazon can keep their trash and burn in hell while they are at it.
