I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I mean sure, the average person in the street surely never heard of it, but it seems to have a decent cult following and I'm sure fantasy nerds/movie buffs all know it. I mean, at least as far as 40 year old fantasy films go, I'd guess it's still probably among the better known.

You want a fantasy film in a similar vein that really seem utterly forgotten, take a gander at Hearts and Armour :D

Darvond: I do daresay what you seek may be found in Japanimation and more recent fantasy cartoons, like She-Ra.

I know you said live action, but live action TV has been dying a slow death for ages.

And on the note of Japan, there is the JRPG soap opera.
Japanese culture never ceases to amaze. Top of the list of places to visit, once the plague is over.

Since we're on the topic, what are your thoughts on Dragonslayer?

I meant the average Joe. Who can recite the true chronological order of The Avengers universe movies in his sleep these days.

I'm pretty sure average Joe can't do that. Especially after MCU had ended with Endgame.

Good movie, great practical effects, I enjoyed it a lot, though I remember being let down by the ending. I don't really remember what exactly it was that bothered me about the ending... I should probably rewatch it, it's been a while.

Well yeah, sure, but then I'm not sure if that average Joe would know The Godfather or even Jaws :D

Breja: Am I missing some great fantasy shows out there?

LootHunter: Once Upon a Time
that was a great show and quite colorful at times.
I second this. Loved OUAT.
