A few days ago I bought "Legends of Eisenwald," which I could not get to run.

Contacted GOG support.

Dummy me didn't read far enough. I'm so used to just checking to make sure a game is Vista-compatible that I didn't even look at graphics card info. Turns out my card isn't acceptable. They tried and couldn't get it to run either.

But GOG kindly offered to give me store credit despite my stupidity - so THANK YOU, GOG!! I promise I will pay more attention in the future! :-)

That's very nice to hear, certainly! Hopefully you can upgrade to win7 someday and get the game again! (win7 forever?!)

Why are you using vista? Is your other hobby having your nuts stabbed with knitting needles? If you can afford the few quid for win 7 then rollback to winxp, or 95, or.dos. Seriously.

Because no extra spending money. It's not because I love it! Besides, for the past six months my computer has been telling me that my hard drive is set to explode any day now. I'll have to worry about that first.

A regular user of Vista a decade after release grants you high score in the most challenging survival horror of all time that will forever haunt our nightmares.
Good luck on keeping her going.
