Are you talking about speed when you referfence "backend issues"? I'm curious, because if you're talking about speed, then my question would be "Are you sure?".

I have posted here often since, I dunno, it seems sometime between 2018 and 2021 my download speeds here tanked, and would always be "capped" at around 5Mb/sec. I posted several times showing speeds at every other place I downloaded from, even simultaneously, were always much, much better than here. At Steam, I get between 50 and 70 MB/sec always (good days more toward 70, bad days more toward 50) and at Nexus the same, but here, no matter what, it would be capped at 5MB/sec. I say capped, because a couple of users who looked into it informed me that they thought it had something to do with Gog's new (then) partnership with Fastly and it did indeed appear as though for whatever reason Fastly servers that my ISP would go through did indeed appear to place a cap on speeds.

However, recently, I downloaded some games and WOW, I was getting 50 MB/sec (hell yeah I'll take that, 50 compared to 5 is a huge difference). Problem is, and this seems even more weird to me than the Fastly explanation, upon downloading some other games that day (after discovering this new found speed here why not right??) I learned that these speeds were only obtainable ON CERTAIN, SPECIF GAMES, not all of them. It seemed (I didn't do enough to gather meaningful data, only anecdotal) that more modern games gave me the newfound uncapped speeds, while older games remained with the 5MB/sec cap. If true, I assume that would nullify the Fastly theory and instead be back on Gog, wouldn't it?

Anyway, a very long winded post to say "are you sure?" if you're speaking specifically about speeds.

There were problems where you couldn't download certain games. Here is one thread:

How nice to read posts of gratitude from time to time and not just complaints!
