bad_fur_day1: You certainly picked a topic buried in serial killer facts. I had a hard time even finding what you are talking about.

I don't think Ted gave a shit about Gary Rigway, and he was doing anything to avoid a death sentence, hence he helped the police if he could. He still lied his ass off about any and everything he thought might help him though.

tinyE: This.

I've read everything and seen everything there is on Ted Bundy. He gave them tips for Ridgeway, which mind you did no good, and then promised more so long as they gave him more time. Authorities were tempted to bite but it became so obvious Ted was just trying to get out of the chair. He'd call a bunch of police in, give them two words, tell them come back in a few weeks and I'll give you two more. It was desperate and pathetic.

The problem was there were a lot of people missing loved ones and Ted was offering up info on them, meant to ease the suffering and offer closure. After consulting with many of those families it was decided it was better for everyone to carry Ted's sentence out and let the cold cases die with him.
Precisely.

Years back I actually knew somebody who knew both Bundy and Ridgeway. The biggest issue I have with Bundy's handling is that he was never tried on any of the murders he committed in the Northwest. That would have been a legitimate reason to give him some more time so the families could get closure knowing that he had been convicted on those counts as well.
