My Wish List contains one TBS game not on GoG ..from Stardock entertainment:

"Elemental: War of Magic" (Stardock entertainment 2010)

My opinion after watching many screenshots + youtube video, its much underrated and worth to come to GoG!

Hope GoG will sell Stardocks "Elemental: War of Magic" soon, like the great Stardock TBS "Fallen Enchantress" and the somewhat different "Sorcerer King" (no classical 4X).

Is there a Chance that "Elemental: War of Magic" comes to GoG?
Elemental is not a good game. In fact, the whole reason that Fallen Enchantress exists is because Elemental was a total failure. I still have the apology email from Brad Wardell giving me a free copy of Fallen Enchantress because I had bought Elemental when it was brand new and it ended up doing so badly, he felt his customers deserved the improved game. Very classy move, to be honest.

Elemental is not a *bad* game, but Fallen Enchantress is much better. If you have a choice of the two, get FE. It's Elemental, with a lot of things fixed that needed fixing.

Thank you for he reply!

QUESTION: OneFiercePuppy, if i buy the "Elemental: War of Magic"-CD from Amazon, is it possible to install & play it without Internet access (without steam and the others), like a GoG game?

I already have played "Fallen Enchantress" like many other classical 4X TBS with fantasy RPG flair. I like the "Fallen Enchantress" 4X TBS style with fantasy RPG and want to play more like it.
("Sorcerer King" is somewhat different and limited, no classical 4X TBS thats why don't want to buy/play it right now.)

Thats why i like to get "Elemental: War of Magic" (Stardock entertainment 2010) in the next month.

Thanxs amok! (I don't notice the community wishlist until now!)

Assuming you get what the image shows, then yes. With the version I bought - and the version Amazon has for sale on their english language site - you can play without an internet connection. But if you want to download updates, you have to activate the game online.

I would like to say again, though - if you have Fallen Enchantress, you shouldn't find any reason to buy Elemental. Fallen Enchantress is just the improved version, and it's actually improved, not "improved". It's the same engine, but it scales better. The economy is functionally the same, but balanced better. The armies and monsters are more varied in FE, and better balanced, too (in Elemental, eight peasants with wooden sticks will beat a great dragon every time, because of the very poor damage system). Fallen Enchantress is everything Elemental was, but better. Still, if you really want to buy it, it's cheap.

EDIT: If you liked Master of Magic (and if you never played Master of Magic, then stop what you're doing and buy it, it's amazing), and also liked Fallen Enchantress, then I'd recommend three games/series to you: Worlds of Magic (available on Steam only, right now, but should be coming to GOG this year) is very much like Master of Magic, but a bit more complex, and thus has a bit more replay value. Warlock: Master of the Arcane, and the sequel Warlock 2, are 1UPT but otherwise quite similar to the feel of MOM and FE. Finally, Disciples and Disciples 2 - available here on GOG - are very good 4x-lite games in the style of Heroes of Might and Magic.

You have played Heroes of Might and Magic 3, haven't you? If not, just get that and Master of Magic and we'll see you in five months =)

That's an interesting piece of inside information. How do you know that it should be coming to GOG?

Because the developers said so. wastelands-interactive.com

They've been very silent for a few months, causing some distress on the forums, but they also said that they were going to be silent on the forums as they got the port for console done. So I think it's possible that it will get done. The completion of the console version is meant to coincide with the completion of the DRM-free version. Since there *was* a game page for WoM here on GOG earlier, before the DRM-free release was pushed back, it makes sense that if the game gets finished, the game page should come back. It's not inside information, just reasoned guesswork.

EDIT: reasoned, not reasonable. Not really my call if it's reasonable XD

Great. Thanks. Will be keeping an open eye for it.
