Hello, thought I'd try my first adult visual novel so I downloaded tales from the unending void however I notice that gog listed it as a unrecognised game. I can't find a forum for the game, nor a release thread on the forum.

Anyone know what's up with that? Been having a little problem with "lesbian fountains".

Brief review:
Overall the game is decent. The main character isn't as much of an arse or otherwise unsavoury character as I'm led to believe the protagonists in other AVNs are (whiny, pervy etc). Gameplay is basically non-existant beyond clicking through the slides and making an occasional choice in how to respond. Though, there are very limited choices that the character can make with little difference in the outcomes.

The other main characters have their own personalities so aren't too 1 dimensional (for the most part), and mostly aren't reduced to sex objects unless that's part of the intentional narrative. They have functions on the ship, and they are typically dressed appropriately for those funcations (except the mechanic and maybe body guard) - though still attractive and good looking.

The sexual parts are sometimes a bit too random and too frequent for my tastes (I'm more of a romanticist) but everything is avoidable so I'm not complaining. A 'little' more flirting or build-up would be nice. The women look like women (as opposed to breasts larger than their chest hentai females) and usually are dressed appropriately and have functions in the narrative other than purely sexual. The graphics are well done and the music is nice.

Overall It's fun enough experience. It's no "wolf among us" in its storytelling or character development (my only other experience with a viual novel), but then that's supposed be be one of the greats. Anyone got any suggestions on romantic/sexual games in this vein?

I don't own that game, so I can't help you with that.

"Leap of Faith" maybe?
I can't link to it since the game is hidden for German users, but I think it is available on GOG, too.
For visual novels often they'd have a number of fixed poses and dressups and then a number of facial configurations, when put together equals hundreds of combinations. However ultimately they tend to be a bit flat, and it's not the images but the writing that carries it.

One of the best writing VN's i was doing until i found i hated VN's, was ROM - Read only memories. Characters were given a lot of personality as well as seemed very lively.

Then you might want some other sets of games with more buildup. Might try Funbag Fantasy, or TroubleDays, Devil in the details,
