Tacoma (https://www.gog.com/game/tacoma_game) is free on HumbleBundle.

Seems to be DRM-free, too (direct download - no Steam-key).

Unfortunately for me there is no direct download, all I get is a window which tells me that a

Ah, sorry - I forgot.
I recently linked my HB and Steam account to get a free game that I was interested in...however - Tacoma seems to run independent from Steam after the download.

I'm on my laptop right now - no Steam account linked to HB on this machine. I went offline after download, started the game - and it runs.

That is odd. I'm only seeing a download-only version.

Thanks for the heads-up, but why are you linking to GOG instead of Humble?

I think linking your Steam account to Humble is a general prerequisite now if you want to participate in any giveaways.

So people can look up the game first, in case they don't know it...without leaving their beloved GOG environment. ;)

You probably also linked your Steam account to HB in the past and then forgot about it?

I'm saying I'm not seeing anything about Steam here. Usually Humble just provides me with a code then - I've done this often enough - but this is just giving me direct download links.

I know, I'm just explaining why Pajama needs to link his Steam account even though this particular freebie ist direct download only.

Yeah, but as Pajama said: as long as you have not linked your Steam account to HB, you are not getting that download link.
If you get the direct download, it means you linked acoounts in the past.

Download only for me too.
Huh. What's the point of Steam-link requirement then? I don't get it.
Cool. This really seems to be DRM-free, just like it was with the Outcast Remake giveaway. I could directly download the game. Wonderful.

Thanks for letting me know!

No, not true at all. I don't have a steam account, never had one. And I've received a direct download link for the game.

Well, I'm definitely not complaining, that the game is DRM-free. Even if Steam is needed to get the DRM-free game in the first place. The end result is what counts for me. shrug

No, like I said before, it's not needed. I never had an account on that evil store, and I could directly download the game.

A shame. Guess I'll miss out on the freebies then as I've not got a Steam account.
