Free weekend for Sunless Sea on Steam. 40% discount too. But you can try the game out on Steam, and if you dislike Steam but love the game, you can always come back and buy it on GOG.

This is a great expansion of the Fallen London universe. The writing is as always amazing. Try it out. :D

Thanks, I was already very intrigued by the game but hesitated because from the looks of it the game mechanics are not for me. Now I can give it a try and see for myself...

I typically dislike rogue likes but Totalbiscuit made it sound like the writing/story aspect of the game is actually quite good which makes me tempted to try it,

Still won't use steam. I'll just wait for a decent sale here.

Expect to lose your first 2-3 captains pretty quickly. This is OK, you're building a dynasty of characters who each get a little better from things you get to carry over from previous characters and your increasing familiarity with the game.

Might just have to try that. Not sure I'll get a chance to play this weekend but it would be nice to try it and see if I am really interested before possibly buying it here.
