Just something that's been mildly bothering me for a while. I prefer to stick with the GOG Downloader (it does exactly what I need it to), and the lack of installer version indicated in the descriptions on the GOG Downloader links page is somewhat annoying.

Is there any chance that the version number be added next to the name of the file itself and displayed there?

Figured I'd post it on the forum rather than bother support with an official request.

Thank you
so something like setup_uplink_gog-4_v1.01.xxx ?

Might also include a crc32 check...

setup_uplink_gog-4_v1.01 [12345678].xxx ?

I'd honestly prefer the CRC check as well, but would settle just for file version.

For some newly released games with quick updates, it was impossible for me to figure out if I only needed the main installer, or one of the several patches available.

I figured it'd save GOG some bandwidth as well. As things stand, if I see such a situation I just queue everything to download (my ISP can at least give me that much seeing how they are indifferent to offering Europe-comparable speeds...).
As GOGDownloader is no longer officially supported, I doubt GOG is going to spend any effort on it.
Though, I too regard it as a good piece of software.

I just wasted half a day trying to get Kingdom Come: Deliverance download without issues.

Having file numbers would help quite a lot, since it seems GOG did a fast-swap (without saying anything about it) along the way presumably fixing whatever the issues were... but the new files seem incompatible with old CRC checks.

Honestly, it's just some numbers and letters next to file name. Not exactly a lot of work to add a script that adds the actual file name on the distro server to the sub-page.

And technically it's "web functionality" rather than GOG Downloader change ;)

Well, I guess "profiles" were more important than something directly related to functionality of the site...

A suit somewhere upstairs is probably looking at some data that says online folks want profiles and/or to be able to see what other folks are doing.
