dtgreene: There's still the issue of not being able to climb mountains by jumping; being able to do so in the original engine did not feel like a bug to me.
If you mean the ability to "climb" by spamming jumps against a tight slope, I don’t know how it could feel like a legit mechanic. It’s obviously an engine limitation, not some hidden climbing ability.

It depends who you’re asking ;)
I’d rather see OpenMW team fixing bugs, instead of trying to replicate them.

Agreed. I think I can live without some obscure jumping exploit in exchange for improved overall stability, bug fixes and many improvements and QOL enhancements that OpenMW brings to the table!

(and not to mention native Linux)

It has felt like a legit mechanic to me, particularly since it works better at higher Acrobatics skill, so you can't climb tall mountains until you get more skilled.

I actually dislike how Oblivion made it so that the only way to climb mountains without having to hunt for the right spot is to get a horse, as that mechanic doesn't really make sense to me, and I don't really like horse riding, to be honest.

As I said:
* It does not feel like an exploit to me.
* It doesn't feel obscure, either, as I believe I found it rather quickly.

On the other hand, I eagerly await for the mod that gives full (or at least, more) voiceover to the NPCs of the game, in order to make a replay. But I’m not so hopeful of its completion. It’s truly a big task (but with the use of AI voices, it’s certainly a “smaller” task, comparing with the creation of a new land and new quests!).
Tamriel Rebuilt 25.05 - Grasping Fortune - Release Trailer

"Grasping Fortune is an expansion for Tamriel Rebuilt, a community-developed add-on for TES 3: Morrowind. In this latest update, players will be able to visit the capital of the Great House Hlaalu, Narsis, which is also the second largest city in Morrowind and the largest settlement Tamriel Rebuilt has ever created.

The expansion adds:
410 brand new exterior cells in Southern Morrowind.
140 handcrafted dungeons.
More than 270 new quests.
The metropolis of Narsis with more than 200 interiors.
Over 2500 unique NPCs, 1100 of which are in Narsis.
New creatures, items, and much more."
