They launch here, they're getting my money, launch discount or not.
Orkhepaj: fun? dont think so , they are brainwashed into loving everything cat related
So what are you "brainwashed" into loving? Oh, let me guess: You don't even like games.
Orkhepaj: you can check this out most of them havent played more than 1-2hr clearly showing they dont have fun
First of all, some people have jobs, kids, or a social life and do not measure the fun they have with narrative media in "hours". On the contrary, I think that some of the reviewers of Mass Effect Andromeda seem to think that the closer they are to the grave once they're finished, the better their game experience.
Some people like watching the giant big budget heap of sh*t that is the Hobbit movie trilogy extended edition, okay if that's their jam. I'm watching "Locke" which is a low budget film that makes me look at Tom Hardy at the phone in his car for 85 minutes and it's a really intense and great movie.
Second, you're lying to yourself pretty violently right there. Most reviews are in the four to eight hour range (recent reviews, no filters). Which of course means that they've seen most of the game or even completed it – you're not getting that with your run of the mill 150 hour AAA hack and slayathon.
I've seen quite a few reviews with 10+ hours. One reviewer with 35.3 hours on record calls it a "once in a generation" game. I don't think Steam gives you average playtime, but judging from reviewers, I'd say they spent a mean six to seven hours on the game.
StingingVelvet: I'd say it leans more toward Dear Esther than Monkey Island, for sure.
Then again, nothing in this world or the next beats Monkey Island anyway.
If GOG is not getting Stray during the next weeks, I'm going to be a little sad for a while, call it a "missed opportunity" and might look out for a disc PS4 version somewhere down the line.
If GOG is not getting Return to Monkey Island ON DAY ONE, I am going to kill someone.
