Orkhepaj: yep these are the people buying this...

Vainamoinen: 32.700+ overwhelmingly positive reviews in four days. As of right now, it's Steam's top seller. Annapurna might have just launched themselves into the triple As.

No wonder you have to insult the fanbase to somehow explain that massive success to yourself.

Don't worry, unless GOG does something fundamentally right, you'll be able to "review" the game on GOG without ever having played a minute of it.
it is a massive fail for humanity
is it really only 4 hr long?:O what a scam
and the reviews only matter if the writers are trustable , but they are not

Right. All those despicable people having great fun with a short, immersive game experience, these can't be real scotsmen. I mean "gamers".

But you'll show them! You'll spoil all teh funz. If there's games that are not to your taste, you get to say mean things about the sheep that play them. It's the law. It's like when your grandmother falls asleep during the movie, you have to draw a d*ck on her face. You didn't make those rules, you just abide by them.

You have to, you absolutely have to. I understand that. Especially on GOG, because Ovinnik forbid they could land that gig as well. Throw yourself in front of the kitty express! If you don't, every single 2023 AAA game will definitely be a cat game with scripted jumps and less than an hour of play time. Hell, they'll probably change all the games in Steam's catalog to have cat protagonists.

... don't forget to change those bedsheets after you cried into your pillow all night, though.

/edit: Stray now is the most wished for game on GOG this week.

fun? dont think so , they are brainwashed into loving everything cat related
this conditioning gives them a feel of relief when they can show how much they love the cats
i think this relief is not the same as having fun

you can check this out most of them havent played more than 1-2hr clearly showing they dont have fun

Four hours of game play isn't bad for $35.
I will buy Stray the second it shows up here. Go get it, GOG.

true it is a scam
They launch here, they're getting my money, launch discount or not.

So what are you "brainwashed" into loving? Oh, let me guess: You don't even like games.

First of all, some people have jobs, kids, or a social life and do not measure the fun they have with narrative media in "hours". On the contrary, I think that some of the reviewers of Mass Effect Andromeda seem to think that the closer they are to the grave once they're finished, the better their game experience.

Some people like watching the giant big budget heap of sh*t that is the Hobbit movie trilogy extended edition, okay if that's their jam. I'm watching "Locke" which is a low budget film that makes me look at Tom Hardy at the phone in his car for 85 minutes and it's a really intense and great movie.

Second, you're lying to yourself pretty violently right there. Most reviews are in the four to eight hour range (recent reviews, no filters). Which of course means that they've seen most of the game or even completed it – you're not getting that with your run of the mill 150 hour AAA hack and slayathon.

I've seen quite a few reviews with 10+ hours. One reviewer with 35.3 hours on record calls it a "once in a generation" game. I don't think Steam gives you average playtime, but judging from reviewers, I'd say they spent a mean six to seven hours on the game.

StingingVelvet: I'd say it leans more toward Dear Esther than Monkey Island, for sure.
Then again, nothing in this world or the next beats Monkey Island anyway.

If GOG is not getting Stray during the next weeks, I'm going to be a little sad for a while, call it a "missed opportunity" and might look out for a disc PS4 version somewhere down the line.

If GOG is not getting Return to Monkey Island ON DAY ONE, I am going to kill someone.

Do you get to crap on your neighbors back doorstep just like a real cat? What about killing the fish in the neighbors pond? Do you play as a male and rape every female cat you come across, just like for real?

I hate cats, and i hate how everyone says they're so smart. If they're so smart then why don't they know that my Greyhound can run faster than them? Their fur is really bad for her digestion.

I don't think this is my game.

cats are very dumb
If dogs are smart then why do they eat cat cheetos?
I wonder if it will out-cute Ghost of a Tale.
Telika's still here!!! YESSS.

Also, we've hit 500 people wishing for Stray on GOG yesterday. Interest in the game is still strong, and apparently people are holding back buying on Steam.

Maybe the real question is if dog owners are smart then why do they feel threatened by games about cats.
