The Radical SF Bundle

Blurb:

Science fiction is the genre of change. There can be any number of SF plots, and a dizzying array of SF themes, and plenty of themes, but the genre is almost definitionally about the status quo collapsing and something new taking its place. History will never end, and the future lasts forever.

Change is most dramatic when it's radical—when it starts at the very root of society, or what we know about science. The Radical SF Bundle collects stories that explore these roots, and pull them out of the thematic ground. The only constant is flux, the only guarantee is that nothing will ever be the same again.

Author David L. Craddock brigs his critically acclaimed Long Live Mortal Kombat: Round 1, a deep dive into the making of and fandom surrounding MK titles from the franchise's arcade era. Boss Fight Books brings not one, not two, but three brand-new books covering classic titles that originated on Windows, PlayStation, and Nintendo 64.

All that, plus historian John Harris's newest collection of gaming retrospectives, three volumes from Hardcore Gaming 101 founder and author Kurt Kalata, and more.

--

Been a while since they've had a games book bundle. I couldn't remeber any to be honest after I bought the big bundle, but that was 2020 and it seems this is around actually around the time of year they do the game bundle. To be honest from that I found things like the hg101 and boss fight books a little dry, probably more interesting if they're on games or systems you like.
Probably not much to choose from. Would be fairly niche i imagine?.
The Assassins & Rogues Bundle

Blurb:

I'm curating a Rogues & Assassins bundle on storybundle.com, a terrific collection of ten novels (15 counting the omnibusses!) by bestselling authors and rising stars. As always, at StoryBundle, you name your own price—whatever you feel the books are worth, and a portion of the proceeds goes to charity.

You'll meet unforgettable characters like Zayn Carter from The Reluctant Assassin, driven by a desperate mission to save his family from an ancient evil that has enslaved their town for centuries, or Jerrell Landish, a resourceful and hilarious thief from Jeffrey Kohanek's Wizardom Legends: Thief for Hire. These books are not just about action; they are also filled with intricate, well-crafted plots like Melissa Yi's Italian School for Assassins, and morally gray protagonists like Viola in Child of the Night Guild by Andy Peloquin who must make difficult choices that test the boundaries of their own ethos.

$5

Beyond Control, Interlude, Beyond Reach by Rebecca M. Senese (Beyond Saga-1)
The Italian School for Assassins by Melissa Yi (Octavia & Dario Killer School Mystery Book 1)
Wet Work by Matthew S. Rotundo (The Unseen-1)
Thief for Hire by Jeffrey L. Kohanek (The Outrageous Exploits of Jerrell Landish Book 1)

$20

The Reluctant Assassin by Thomas K. Carpenter (The Reluctant Assassin-1)
The Doppelganger Omnibus by Marie Brennan (Novel + Novella)
Quick-Kill & the Galactic Secret Service Omnibus by K.J.Heritage
Child of the Night Guild by Andy Peloquin (Fantasy Thieves-1)
A Woman of the Road by Amy Wolf (Houses of Bone and Smoke Book-1)
Frostbite and Fire by Amanda McCarter (Honest Thieves-1)

--
A bit of a liberty to call it 15 novels! Quick Kill is 4 of them in only 288 pages, and the second one in The Doppelganger Omnibus is a novella.

==============================

A Bonus mention since I picked this one up from humble bundle despite their very clear intention to not show me any book bundles I might be interested in (I even checked my settings to see I somehow had ticked the wrong boxes but there is only an on/off for book bundle emails.)

Humble screwed themselves out of a couple of dollars here, I decided to round my australian dollars price up to $30, but I wanted to give the extra to the author (well publisher as it turns out). The only trouble is the sliders no longer let you set the values exactly, then I noticed the values went up a little randomly, so I spent a time flicking the charity amount back and forth to get the right value. I never achieved that but I did notice whilst doing it that the humble bundle value had stolen a dollar from the publishers amount, that seemed unlikely to be random, so having spent so long I reset to default then reduced the humble amount as low as possible givine the charity and publisher a buck from humble. Middle finger Humble, middle finger.

The 2023 Good Cheer Bundle

Blurb:

The holiday season goes by so very fast. I always have a dozen books lined up to read, filled with holiday stories to make me smile—or, in some cases, grimace. I do holiday charity runs, look at some of the free holiday events here in Las Vegas (there are many) and spend as much time with friend-family as possible.

By the end, I haven't read as much fiction as I'd like. Sometimes I only have the opportunity to read a novel or two before the year ends, and it's time to move onto other things.

But short stories…there's always time for short stories. And short stories in ebook form are even better. Just last week, I read a holiday story on my phone while standing in an incredibly long line (at Subway; don't judge me). The story made the time pass quicker, and led me to another story while I munched on my lunch.

When we discussed assembling a Good Cheer bundle, filled with holiday goodies, Dean Wesley Smith, who co-curated this bundle with me, suggested holiday short stories, and we all jumped on the chance. Short stories are perfect for the shortest days of the year. They also can distract us for as little as fifteen minutes while we are dealing with one year-end crisis after another.

$5

Jingle My Bells edited by Dean Wesley Smith
A Flame for Yuletide by T. Thorn Coyle
Yuletide Thrills - A Christmas Anthology by Rebecca Cantrell
Whimsical Winter Wonderland edited by Lyn Worthen

The Galactic Mystery Bundle

Blurb:

Discover ancient interstellar secrets, mythical alien races and mind-blowing technologies! I've curated the Galactic Mystery bundle for StoryBundle: a collection of eleven awe-inspiring novels by bestselling authors and rising stars.

I wanted to come up with a wide range of styles and tones in this bundle. Some of the books are gritty and dark as we battle cruel galactic overlords. Several feature seemingly unstoppable alien entities and miraculous technologies. One or two delve into the very nature of reality itself. More than one is a love letter to the Golden Age of science fiction. And some of the books are light-hearted or even fun in tone. All are intriguing, though, and all will take you on a journey to the stars to uncover intriguing and terrifying interstellar mysteries.

$5

Synthesis: Weave by Rexx Deane (Synthesis-1)
Agrotharn by Milo James Fowler (Chronicles of Agrotharn-1)
Infinite Waste by Dean F. Wilson (An Infinite Stars Novel)
Grand Master's Pawn by Aurora Springer (Grandmasters Galaxy-1)

this looks interesting, but very very light on the total number of books. I was disappointed in the recent Assassins and Rogues Bundle. The omnibus was no longer than a regular book, even though it was comprised of 3 books.
.
That being said, I've enjoyed nearly all of the stories.

The 2024 World SF Bundle

Blurb:

It's hard to believe this is the seventh – seventh! – World SF bundle I've had the privilege to put together. It's been a trip, collecting novels and stories from around the world, both here with StoryBundle and with the early Apex Book of World SF anthologies and the more recent Best of World SF hardbacks from Head of Zeus. It's a constant joy to see how much more international the science fiction and fantasy fields become year after year, more accessible, more diverse and more interesting.

Just a few years ago books from outside the Anglophone world, let alone books in translation, seemed rarer than gold dust. That much of the work is still done in the small and independent press is telling – but things are definitely getting better, and it's always interesting when I come round to look for this year's titles, unearthing new treasures and bringing some back that may have been unjustly left behind.
