I tried another game, Might and Magic VII, same thing.

It started, I heard the music, but it showed another game not in GOG.

I alt-tabbed to get to M&M, and got a hung black screen. Could not alt-tab, or control-alt-delete, had to power cycle.

I'm getting sick of these supposedly 'good old games' you can pay for but not use.

It could also platform issue. I don't play old games on Steam because they run like ass on my PC. If you happen to have the same title on Steam, it might be worth testing.

Craig234: ...
Contact Support, not all games are gonna run right out of the box on every computer. If you aren't willing to spend some time tweaking games if need be, don't be a PC gamer.

Well, that's jerky. If you want to run it on the current OS, you shouldn't have to 'contact support' to get it to run.

That is the way it is sometimes . If you are having issues that you can't figure out yourself that is what technical support is for. Like it or not.

PC gaming is what it is, fair or not. You either sign up for the ride, or you play somewhere else. Not trying to be a jerk, it just is the way of things. Do you use PC Gaming Wiki? That website solves pretty much every problem I ever have with any PC game.
Yeah I can't lay the blame on GOG - Windows 10 is literally the worst most buggy operating system Microsoft have ever made, and yes I'm even saying worse than ME, Vista and 8.

I don't know if any of you are aware, but the main reason for this is they do NO regression testing at all now.

They deleted their entire QA department, and outsourced it to us - the users. I'm not even joking ; The only testing that's done in-house is automated unit tests in identical VMs; All the complex time consuming multi-hardware testing they used to do that would catch bugs and quirks on different combinations of hardware is gone.

The rest is up to the 'Insiders' to trip over and report, which most of them don't bother to do because it's such a PITA and most of them probably get ignored anyway.

This is why it's been so noticeably bad compared to older versions of Windows.

Meanwhile Microsoft keep adding new gimmicky features that are also full of bugs instead of fixing old bugs. Bugs on bugs.

I don't know how they haven't been sued for this - This operating system is literally not fit for purpose.

I have a feeling they don't even care - There is a rumour going round that they intend to abandon Windows in the future when they've tricked enough people to move to their Cloud services, where they can charge you again and again for the same thing without doing any work.

It would explain why they're suddenly so interested in Linuxing things up - They probably just want to make some shim OS that's barely usable so you can get on-line to use their crappy Cloud software and shift the responsibility of the OS to someone, anyone else.
