Hey guys,

I'm quite new to GOG and pretty disapointed I didn't find this sooner, pretty much what the topic subject says. I know that there is GOG connect (is that still going by the way?) but I was wondering if there would be a possibility of being able to transfer games in the future with an unlimited window of time to do so? Or maybe even, as I heard one user suggest, charging a small fee as a worst case scenario to do so? I know that might be unpopular but I'd be willing to do so just to get rid of DRM on those games. So far I'm quite lucky in that I only have 23 games on steam that are also on GOG, hence my dissapointment that i didnt find it a little sooner. Anyway thanks in advance guys.

GOG Connect is still a thing but GOG needs publishers to agree to have their game on connect. So this will most likely never be permanent but only temporary promotions.

During the big seasonal sales there are often games on GOG Connect. When Spring Sale comes around have another look at the GOG Connect page and you might find some games there.

I think you do not understand what GOG Connect is. It is a marketing campaign to entice Steam users to try out GOG and hopefully stay for the long haul and generate more sales (and more profit). It is not a good samaritan back-up service. They are a business and competitor after all.

As a marketing campaign, it entails costs (more copies means money for publishers). That is why it probably will always be time-limited.

Rezzoid: I know that there is GOG connect
It's a promotional offer that pops up with a selection of games for a limited time a couple times a year. Generally during big sales. I expect it'll come back with a new selection of games by summer.

If it was a permanent or even a predictable feature it would make sense to move your business to Steam and freeload on gog on the side. So, unless they lose their marbles, probably not going to happen.
Yeah makes sense, thanks anyway guys.

First option gets a big no-no from me.
Second option? I dont care as long as I'm able to play the games offline without any client installed.
