I was just banned illegally from steam forum based on assumptions by the mods. There are no checks on this behaviour.

Mods do it with impunity, without fear of being fired for wrongdoing. This is a really bad, PERSISTENT pattern with corporations in the USA, UK and Canada now.

Something HAS TO BE DONE.

What are you banned from? The entire forums, a subforum, the entire service (can't play games?)

What was 'illegal' about this ban from a private forum?

the thing is this is arbtrary and the same problems are around. they hire shit tier mods and these mods have 'trained' on being dipshits on discord etc or ather platforms that give them arbitrary impnutiy. There is no accountablitiy it's stupid as shit to deal with.

well i haven't spent a cent on the industry for two or more years now and this shit is why.

The terms and conditions do not state you will receive bans based on unproveable assumptions and arbitrariness with arbitrary punishments.

mods are just bad. They sit back on their plush comfy chairs and think, "yeah i'm going to fuck with this guy. the corporation executives don't care if i do". This is how they think. Moderation should have been properly controlled decades ago.

yes something does. this is actually to do with Intersectional theory. it's all related to the same thing. I wasn't spamming, or anything like that.

ie. "Challenging authority must be punished, even when they're justified."- Executive or lower level.

Given your post history I don't immediately feel confident you're not at least partly responsible.

Guys in order to get to Blizzard you are going to have to trash the company non-stop all over the internet for a decent amount of time whilst also helping competitors. It may help to befriend one of the top owners. In this way it might be able to convince the owner they have bad employees and have them fired (senior ones are necessary).

As you've no doubt been told before, the game subforums are run privately by the game it belongs to who can assign anyone they like to mod their own subforum, you're bound to run into badly run forums at some point. That's an issue of the mods assigned by that game's developers/publishers though.

Your rage against the machine is perhaps righteous or at least meaningful, but accomplishes nothing. Look at how shakers and movers communicate and mimick their style and methods.

Then, before you know it, you'll likely no longer care about mods, bans, or feel so passionate about such innane things and be passionate about shaking and moving real causes. And then you'll find yourself not getting banned.

TOS became basically if i dont like you i can ban you as it is so vague and applied clearly on the whim of the moderator

Turning to GOG community for help doesn't get you anywhere.

Turn to Steam support and tell them what happened and why you think your ban was unwarranted. Based on their findings your ban will likely be lifted or stay in place otherwise. Just don't use this experience as cheap/convenient excuse not to buy games and instead turning to piracy. ;-)
