I am sure that this has been asked before but here goes.....I absolutely loved Star Wars TIE Fighter and was estatic when it was on GOG, I downloaded it and tried using my Logitech USB Extreme 3D Pro and all that happens is the craft just goes into a spin. I even tried my original Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital joystick, but due to the age of it I tried searching for an adapter for it, same thing happened as you can see the cockpit spin and it wouldn't respond. So my question is, if any flight sticks work with this game and what can I do if I can still use mine what do I need to do. Also I really like the Wingman joystick and would love to find an adapter that actually works with todays machines. Any advice/links etc would be appreciated, thanks.

Did you remove all other controllers of all kinds except the one you were trying?

Yes, retried the newer flight stick and it worked finally however the throttle doesn't respond so needed to use the keyboard to accelerate/decelerate.
Soul Reaver also had a strange problem like that but I don't know if they fixed it.

It looks like Joy2Key might be your best bet for remapping the throttle. Also, check these forums for more info:

If I recall right, the problem with Soul Reaver (PC version) was that it was not designed for analog gamepads (nor joysticks), but to be played with the keyboard (and mouse I guess). So you should probably just disconnect any analog gamepads and such you might have.

Isn't this ran on dosbox? The youtube link from this comment shows you how to set it up and it should be in the dosbox manual or wiki if you want to read it instead.

After some research it has something to do with dinput.dll and someone made a fixed version that I've yet to try.

Yeah, it'd be unusual for your new joystick to work out of the box with default configs with older games run with Dosbox. You'll need to have a fiddle with the emulated settings / joystick mappings to make it work properly.
I remember I had this same problem, but don't remember how I fixed it. It may have been a calibration.

Try calibration in Windows and in game.

Trying no joystick and see if it does it.

Try unplugging your mouse.

Try calibrating your joystick without moving it at all and see what it does. Same thing or different

Edit:. Nevermind. Didn't see post 2. Tie fighter doesn't work with throttle. Enter matches speeds, backspace is Max, I believe. And some keys around backspace are 1/3 and 2/3 and full stop.

Ummm, I tend to remember TIE working with a throttle on my old analogue joystick years ago. It would seem to me it's not the throttle perse that's the problem, rather the mapping. Keyboard +/- alters speed incrementally, while you can use 1/3, 2/3 and full as well ... but maybe my memory is faulty and I'm remembering XvT. *shrug*
