I downloaded Rebellion last night, but the game will not launch. It comes up with an error message saying that "Changes could not be made." I have tried running it in other compatibility modes, but nothing is working. I see other people are playing it just fine in Windows 10, so I know it is possible. What can I do to play this? I have read things saying I need DirectPlay, but I cannot download it. Any suggestion would be much appreciated!

Well you've already posted in the Rebellion forum so I'm sure you'll have your answer soon.
Perhaps you need to install DirectX9?
One thing about the game is that support for Windows 10 is not mentioned on the support page. I suggest in future purchases to look at the game's page and then the requirements and see if Windows 10 is mentioned as supported. If not, it probably won't run on Windows 10 without massive tweaking or luck.

I cannot offer any help to run this game unfortunately, but I thought of helping out.

Yeah I saw that before I downloaded it, but read all these comments how people had it running on Windows 10, so I figured I'd take the chance since it was on $6.

If you can't get it to work eventually contact support, if they can't get it to work you will most likely receive a refund.

Well it depends on the games in question. For example, I can run Dust: An Elysian Tail fine on my Windows 10 PC but only because I installed another version of the XNA framework. By then I discovered that it was touted as incompatible with Windows 10.

Even with DirectX 11 (or 12 as should be with Windows 10), you will need DirectX 9 for games that need it. Simply put, without DirectX 9 installed, a majority of the games will complain about missing DLL files, mostly related to DX9.

Installing DirectX 9 will NOT replace your Direct X 11/12 on your PC, rather it will co-exist alongside it, so don't hesitate about installing it.

Okay. I will try to Download DirectX 9 and run it alongside 11 when I get home later this afternoon. Thank you! I will let you know what happens.

Depends on whether the support will be charitable, as the game isn't officially supported by Windows 10.

Damn. :l
What directory did you install it under? Make sure that you don't install it under "Program files" or "Program Files (x86)". I am running it fine on Win 10 with compatibility settings of "disable display scaling" and "Run in 640 x 480 screen res". I also have directx 9 installed.

It's not incompatible either though. I've run it on 10 just fine and untweaked.
Okay DirectX 9 did not help the issue. I will attach a picture of the error message that I am receiving

Sometimes I feel like a moron lol. I updated my entire PC, downloaded DirectX 9, and it let me enable DirectPlay after that. Occam's Razor. Thanks for the help, friend
