Lone_Scout: Meanwhile, the efforts on trying to shove NFTs up gamers a***s continue.

Take a look at this upcoming storefront.
"Embrace Blockchain Technology"!

It sound a bit like "Swallow some Black Plague, it's good for your health"!
Fuck them sideways with a burning, spiked baseball bat.

Corporate jergon ho!

ShadowWulfe: All I can say is lol.

Will care about the game when it comes to GOG. My backlog is certainly long enough.

Nirth: GOG release and mods should solve the issue!
Like Hitman 6 was fixed of DRM.
The idea that NFTs in games will just be "fans getting their name on an NPC" or the like is BS. The main people who will purchase the NFTs will be large corporations, and they will use it to advertise their products in the game. It will become a back door for the more product placement in video games.

It doesn’t work that way though. Buying an NFT doesn’t give you access to the associated image. So the only way that’s possible is if the developer selling it explicitly sells it for that purpose. There’s no purpose for a developer to do that when there are existing means to get product placement in games that are less convoluted and have better legal protections for both parties involved in the transaction. They don’t need a back door for product placement when it’s already an accepted practice.

_Line: Yup. Before we know it, we will be extending this topic about what are really bought when you "buy" things. :P

A demonstration of comradeship through the expression of laughs or smiles simbolism :)

Orkhepaj: yup, does gog give rights to modify the games?
I think gog games arent any more yours than steam games
The difference is that I will revoke my ownership only after someone can take the game/s from my cold, dead laptop.*
