I'm actually in the same boat. I bought Battlezone 98 Redux on Steam rather than GOG during the sale over the Thanksgiving weekend for 3 reasons
1. They had the mac version.
2. They had a combination version(which GOG does not have) of the base game and it's expansion that was 5 dollars cheaper than buying separately (25<30).
3. They reached 75% off when I think the most I've seen them on GOG is 66%. With the combined version being cheaper to start with it was naturally cheaper than what they would be at 75% off on GOG.
While the original poster could have done without the ":D", I think it's important for GOG to get reasons why they may lose a sale to Steam, especially when there is another reason than price. Granted price did play a major role this time for me but there is still reason number 1 in this case.
I posted a question 5 months ago in the battlezone forums asking about the mac version when it got released and I only had a fan response. It's been 4.5 months since then and still no mac version on GOG. I generally would prefer GOG versions but not when they are not only cheaper on Steam but also have more features(other than workshop).
