No more Halo on XBOX, then?

*facepalm* MS has owned that IP since the beginning of the franchise.

Nevertheless, it's a bit bizarre to me that Microsoft would buy out Acti-Blizz, but not the studio behind their own console's flagship title.
destiny is a meh game anyway

Microsoft once owned Bungie, but Bungie bought their independence to get away from Microsoft, since they wanted to do something new at that time (i.e. Destiny).

Interesting enough, Bungie's been owned and has divorced w/ 2 big companies - Microsoft and Activision. Yet, now Sony's another big company owning Bungie.

And now one of their former owners owns the second. It's like a damn soap opera. All we need now is for Bungie to learn that it is Sony's long lost twin sister or something.
Is this good or bad overall?
I heard Sony were struggling internally because they moved their headquarters* to Canada or something and they were abandoning Japanese business model of games development.

What you guys know and think about that?

Last I heard Sony had moved to California and FYI that move seemed to be when many of Sonys anti Japanese based game calls and moronic all the time changing guidelines started among other moronic crude as a whole .. though given California rep its no surprise for many reasons if one is American and know of the insanity California had become some time ago
Microsoft and Sony are measuring who has it longest.

Prepare for a machine gun discharge of buy-outs.

For consumers all around - could be bad, if Sony decides to make Destiny games exclusive to Playstation platforms.

I really ain't fond of big companies getting even bigger - so there's also that factor, of Sony getting more & more powerful.

For Playstation fans that play Destiny - this ensures Playstation will have current and future Destiny sequels and/or expansions on their platforms. So, for sure, Playstation gamers will likely be getting more Destiny.

Who knows, if Sony will keep putting Destiny games on Xbox, no matter what Sony might say about keeping it "on Xbox" - depends on what the contract w/ them and Bungie agreed to and who knows what other contracts Bungie already has in place w/ Microsoft; and/or any other legalese or whatever. Who knows/ [shrug]

Possibly, this could be bad for Xbox console gamers and/or might not be so hot for PC gamers into Destiny.

Who knows, we might still get Destiny's future titles on PC - but that still could be way later, since Sony's bringing their games often later to PC now - i.e. see Heavy Rain, Detroit: BH, Beyond: Two Souls, HZD Complete, Days Gone, God of War Reboot, etc etc. I guess, at least Sony's bringing their older titles to PC later, whether it's Epic, Steam, and/or even GOG.

EDIT:
I personally don't see Destiny games coming to GOG, as...well, these are always-online games basically. That don't fit GOG's current mantra.

Though, I would love to see any vaulted or super-old Destiny 1 and 2 content come to GOG, if they made it work offline w/ bots and/or whatever. But, I'm dreaming & stretching it on that one.

Oh yeah, you're right. It wasn't Canada, it was California. Thanks for correcting me.

What's wrong with California reputation for gaming development?
I mean, it's weird for a Japanese based company to just move to another country like this, specially Sony, but why is this a bad thing?

I see. I think Sony will keep focusing on exclusives for PS5 and PC and they might launch something like Xbox game pass for PC. A weird guess is that they will also focus on portable again, following Switchs success.

Long story short its got a rep of being the for lack of a better term/phrasing ''real life tumbler/twitter'' for quite awhile awhile now and being loaded with specific idealogical driven sort that is against many themes and concepts this side of idealogy used to be all for till they became a version of what they fought against.. So um ya long story short California has a rep of atleast those in charge of things and several random folks being extremists on some ideological bearing most thats inherintly harmful to entertainment as a whole for atleast 2 decades now .. Which is why many has drawn connections to when companies or atleast a branch of a company moves to California similar timeframes when moronic choices and running of vast amount of paying consumers happen

Note I ain't saying what the idealogical bearings are for the simple fact it seems what America labels as this or that tends to be different or flipped in other country's so ya
