This song (türkü) is considered to be the pinnacle of Turkish music. It is very old yet the emotion is still very strong. This is a song about birth, life and death. One of my friends loved the song so I translated the lyrics for her. While at it, I thought I could share it here if anyone else is interested in tasting different kinds of music.

I used to listen to his music many years ago, but right now I can only remember Alla beni pulla beni, and that other one about a donkey. :P

You know, there's that game, Disciples: Resurrection, It's blamed for questionable gameplay decisions, bugs, not being an actual Disciples game... however there's something people don't blame it for: its soundtrack.
So when I found it on Youtube, I was surprised to find out from the comments that an actual Turkish song was used in the creation of this theme.
Knowing the meaning of the lyrics (yeah, I googled the translation) and the story behind it all adds a lot to the impression this music makes.
