Wouldn't it make sense from GOG's perspective though to encourage customers to use all available features of the website, since they put them there for being used? Many other websites and stores do the same, and even when they give out free games, GOG is still a store with their own interests at heart, not a charity. If they wanted to push Galaxy even more, they could give away free games only for those with Galaxy installed. It's not like this is unusual behavior for companies. It's not necessarily "nice" or sympathetic, but It's not "wrong" either, since noone is entitled to free games and GOG is not bound to always please everyone, including those who are disinterested in features that GOG would view as integral part of their service.
That being said, using the wishlist just to get freebies is a risky gamble for the users. If GOG would actually choose to gift a random game from users' wishlists one day, those who indiscriminately added stuff to their wishlists might end up with getting something they didn't really want, as opposed to one of the games they most wished for. ;)
(And I'm sure they would complain about it. :P)
