It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

teceem: Also interesting would be: tests of different models, use cases, the location of the m.2 slot.
NVMe SSD longevity is a case-by-case question, not a general one.

WinterSnowfall: It's really hard to do case-by-case studies on such a topic, as you're usually looking for a large statistical population of similar entries which can eliminate outliers. Data centers are perfect places to conduct such studies and of course failures in such scenarios will want to be investigated by tech companies. I doubt you'll find studies conducted on consumer SSDs, but the technology is not that different.
The conclusion is actually pretty simple:
- Do you want the longest possible lifespan for any SSD? Get a good, roomy desktop case / a motherboard with an m.2 slot away from hot components.
- If you have/get a laptop, it doesn't matter - it is what it is. (same thing for external SSD drives)

But what about this topic? It looks like the OP is referring to USB sticks - not SSDs.
