Ancient-Red-Dragon: Chess was proven to be a pointless game when the fact came out that a competent Chess computer AI can beat any human Chess player. That proves Chess is merely a matter of being able to make better mathematical calculations than one's opponent, and nothing more.
Computers can do x better than humans, therefore x is pointless = faulty logic.

Interesting trivia, there are more possible moves in a single game of chess than there are atoms in the entire universe. Think about that. An entire universe contained in one game. Chess is beauty.

So here's a thought: Why pay for something when you can get it for free 70 ways until Sunday?

Such as this?

Or all of these.

It's the same reason why people rarely sell Mahjong Solitaire, Solitaire, Checkers, and other basic games.

I use that with xboard.
Stockfish plays a mean game, I should say, just like crafty. GNUchess is also a solid player, but not as advanced.

I've stretched my metaphorical fingers against Stockfish via Droidfish. I play a mean Fool's Mate.
