Just a thing, I dont know if i missed some thing but yeah what are they for?

Nothing but adding XP and fooling you into thinking they could do something extra because they look shiny, hence prompting you to attempt to collect them all.

They're for marketing promotion by gamifying the shopping experience. A lot of people like that sort of thing, collecting points to get free stuff or for other reasons. Also most likely a first time experiment with doing such a thing to test out their code for future promotions and possibly other usage in the future as well.
That sucks

Why's that? :) What were you hoping it would be for? :)

well dunno i mean we had the free system shock 2 and the 3 free games regarding the XP tiers - what else did you expect to happen? Or where you hoping for an option to display them in the forum? (Which would be kinda pointless as these badges were ultra easy to reach ^^)

Hey, I got my underwater basket weaving badge from NeeHigh University and like anything, it's an accomplishment, but kind of leave it off my resume.

I think the best real-life badges are those you get from things you do or make and actually get acknowledgement from others' for it.
You mean you don't know?!

Nope. It was just a promotional trick. Plus, that would've been a little pointless, seeing as pretty much EVERYBODY had all the badges unless they didn't participate in the sale.
The only thing you could "display" was opting-in to the "leaderboard" which compared how much "XP" you had (read: how much money you spent) in comparison to others.
Well, my Question was answerd so thank you guys and happy gaming all :)

True, but we still don't have badges that we can display.
