MadalinStroe: That is strange, though I wouldn't be surprised if GOG's 'spaghetti code' site is just broken again.
That's my assumption. I always tend to assume incompetence first rather than evil intent.
Oh, thx to remind me I should give it a review it deserves 2/5 stars.

Panaias: I agree as well. I prefer calling these the "good bad reviews", meaning that they are negative reviews but in a constructive way. So much better than positive reviews like "OMG 'tis guuudd u should get it now cuz 'tis da best game evarrr".

Darvond: Or "I plaid this on an Amiga 32 years ago, so I'm sure it's held up just to the test of toyme!"
those reviews are garbage
and dont forget to check the playtimes , below 2 hours should be ignored except it is bad review about a technical problem
Best is when recommenders write this game is so cool i have so much fun and then you see they havent added anything to their 1 hour playtime after that :P

It's just one of gOg's 'features'. The game page has the correct ratings - https://www.gog.com/game/cyberpunk_2077

nightcraw1er.488: But also, let’s not forget, the aim of this game is to push into the microtransaction always online multiplayer arena (which is likely why this single player release is so crap, you can see the systems are there for multiplayer and buy sell like weapons), and what we have is a truly awful product I wouldn’t recommend anyone wastes their bandwidth even downloading for free. I certainly won’t be buying anything from or related to CDPR, and it certainly impacted on my decision to stop buying from GOG also.
I have been saying too that Cyberpunk is essentially their take on a GTA 5 with the Online mode coming in a couple years. The new mode might be free, but "naturally, there will be microtransactions". My read is that the marketing will be to say the base game is the $60 product, and the online is just a free bonus, thrown in out of the goodness of their hearts! When really the base game will pale in many aspects compared to previous ones in the series/developer's history (and as an aside, don't forget the
"opportunity cost" sort of argument that the newer game should do everything the older one does PLUS more, at minimum), and the online is the actual focus. That's in essence what happened with GTA.

I don't want CDPR looking up to modern Rockstar, or EA, or Ubisoft, et al. I want them looking up to the old versions of those places, when the games were jampacked with content and felt more, I don't know "homey"? They struck me as more for the gamers back in the day than the shareholders. Not that they don't still put out compelling products, GTA 5 and Red Dead are certainly impressive and have a great deal of fun, but seem to have a different spirit about them than the older games. I haven't played Cyberpunk but wonder if that is along the same lines contrasted with The Witcher games. I guess we will have to wait longer to see how the Cyberpunk microtransaction multiplayer, presumably client-required, cash cow compares with the existing online microtransaction game GWENT.

On a separate note, add me in with those who look first at negative reviews. While there are many irrelevant ones, it is the primary place to learn things like whether a game has some sort of DRM or activation scheme.
Relax. Almost none of the sorting and filtering options -- in any part of the store or library -- work properly. That's not a sign of dishonesty so much as skewed company priorities and/or incompetent coding (both of which have been on display from GOG for a long time).
Not to say that dishonesty couldn't factor in as well, but even then, I'd still be willing to bet it's caused by 80% dumb decisions/incompetence, and 20% intentional lying/misleading.

pds41: Looks like the coding is probably just broken.
So, basically just like the game then? :)

Hah! Yes, but I reckon the website was broken first :D

Yep, another thing they won't fix. ;)

WinterSnowfall: I agree. If the bad reviews are bad, then the game is probably good :P.

When I read reviews for books the first thing I do is look at the most positive review and just barely skim it and then dive into the negatives. The majority of positive reviews are basically the same thing, "My preferred author has the best writing style, the fewest biases, the best research, the most fluid sentences, the most intelligent arguments." Whether it's fiction or not it really does not matter it's basically the same kind of superlatives put slightly differently. It's more useful to see either what was wrong or who would not like something. I have read many good positive reviews and many bad negative reviews but I would agree that negative reviews tend to be the most helpful.

That said, I have played not just a could of games because the positive reviews said it was perfect only to be let down/ find out it was not for me to find out the negative reviews feel more relatable. (Skyward Sword and thus far Trails of Cold Steel come to my mind)

pds41: When you sort in the sales by user rating, there's no logical order.
Sort by user rating indeed is broken for as long as I can remember, especially in the game catalog, so much that this sort option is completely useless. But it's only one of the many flaws in GOG's web presence. Showing a wrong rating for a game probably is just another bug.
