Brings more questions to why Marvelous won't release the Senran Kagura series to GOG. While I know IF is the one publishing it, Senran Kagura is still Marvelous' IP.
Don't underestimate the power of the publisher and don't overestimate the power of the license-holder.

It's why plenty of Warhammer 40K games are here, but not Dawn of War.
It's why plenty of Disney games are here, but not Ducktales or Disney Afternoon Collection.
It's why Tales from the Borderlands used to be here, but not anymore.

Shinovi and Estival Versus were scheduled to come to GOG years ago, but XSeed claims they were unable to bypass the DRM and cancelled the release...

This is my theory:

GOG "curation" rejected Senran Kagura games years ago in the past, at the time when Marvelous first submitted them to GOG, on the grounds that they violated GOG's previously-held (up until a few months ago) Puritan-minded censorship standards.

A few months ago when GOG finally abandoned their Puritan-minded censorship standards, Marvelous either is/was:

a) unaware of GOG's abandonment of those standards or

b) Marvelous doesn't care to go through the bother of re-doing the work of re-submitting the same games to GOG which GOG had already previously-rejected for ludicrous reasons.

Of course, I could be wrong about that, since it's just a speculative theory. But on the other hand, it's a plausible explanation.

In any event, someone should contact XSEED directly and explain that GOG has recently, at least somewhat, abandoned their long-held censorship-minded Puritan standards, and see if they'd be willing to (re)submit those games to GOG "curation."

I literally just pointed out that some SK games were coming here years ago, but tamsoft's DRM was too much of a hassle for the publisher and the releases were cancelled.

I'm all for shitting on GOG's curators, but I don't think this one is on them.

Yes, now that GOG has backtracked we can enjoy our degenerate animu games!. Not like their Based Puritan standards ever applied to titles like "Soldier of Fortune", which are arguably worse.
Is there a reason you decided to repeat this statement in a new thread instead of posting in the coming soon thread? I mean, if you wanted to create a new thread just for this topic, you could have at least chosen a thread title that didn't just scream "duplicate thread".

XSEED: There is only a Steam version because we ran into some technical difficulties with our DRM-free development.

If by DRM they mean not linking to Steam, strange that they were able to publish other games except their own for years on GOG, including more recent SK games.

"Rumors" (I insist on the rumor part) was that it was too much of an hassle to implement multiplayer using Galaxy and they preferred only release it on Steam. Now that multiplayer is as good as dead for most if not all SK games and Neptunia x Senran Kagura is released here they will reconsider, even if it means disabling MP on the old games.
