Haha, wow, that was good. Thanks for sharing the link, it certainly made my evening a little more interesting. Yeah, a couple girls going to college in Texas that decided to start writing Dinosaur porn... Good for them. I almost feel like buying a couple of the books to support them, but it seems like they're doing pretty damn well already.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: Not buying that game, nor it's predecessor, or anything from that dev, because that dev treats GOG customers like second-class citizens by not giving us Achievements even though he does give Achievements to his Steam customers.
And many of us don't care about achievements. ;) But that's okay, your choice not to purchase of course.

Well said. There's no pleasing everyone, or sometimes it feels like anyone.
- GOG shouldn't curate at all but open all the floodgates to all games.
- GOG should curate, but when GOG curates, they do it wrong, letting "wrong" games in and rejecting "right" games.

I let GOG decide themselves what and how they release on their own store, and I decide which of them I end up buying.
It is GOG's business, but it is my wallet.

And no I didn't buy the newest Hitman game either. I made the decision not to purchase it, due to the DRM concerns.

And the focus on porn and dating sims, and sometimes some hipster coffe drinking sim... is this all you can get now, is that the kind of games we should expect to be GOG's bread and butter now?

And I'm really not saying this because I'm offended by porn or anything like that. But those games just hold zero interest for me, they kinda look like crap, and are definitely not the caliber of new releases to get the store out of the doldrums. This is not a good sign for the new year.
I totally understand that not every game will suit everyone's liking and that's completely fine :) Sorry to hear you didn't find anything to grab during our Winter Sale but the year has just begun, and hopefully you'll find a title you like sooner rather than later. We're doing our best to secure more releases and always welcome any constructive discussions about them, of course.

Okay I'll go first. How is it that a low end platform such as Zoom Platform was able to acquire the rights to sell Duke Nukem games but not GoG?

You even have the Alien vs Predator classic but can't get the gold edition? Empire of the Ants, Zoom has it but you guys don't?

What about the simple fps like Marine Sharpshooter 2 Jungle Warfare? Good nostalgic shooter...again, you guys don't have it.

Or Hatred or REKKR?

That is just a small portion from a platform that, at this time of writing, only has 420 games in their store and have been around for just 7 years.

You guys could have easily acquired those titles but instead we get bland indies with no substance or anime porn games? Idc if people buy that stuff, it's the fact that the frequency of them seem to be increasing. Like yall are just throwing fillers into the store. Diluting quality.

What's your discussion about that?

That is a damn fine list. Needs more Warhammer though. Like Space Marine and DoW 3 etc. But good list nonetheless!

I actually have Chronicles of riddick Assault on Dark Athena in my GoG library before they removed it. However I don't know why they lost the rights to sell it. A great game. It even contains Escape from Butcher Bay.

Oh and YeS to Black&White and the Mechwarrior games. Would especially love to see those here along with everything else on your list. Ah and don't forget Freelancer and Starlancer!

I think you misunderstand. It's not about the game not suiting my liking. I can think of quite a few games that I would have no interest in personally, and I would still have to acknowlegde as a big success if GOG acquired them.
And I did find more than enough games to buy during the sale. My wishlist is rather long, since it's been building for literally years. I could go for a long time buying things off my wishlist without anything new interesting appearing here. But to buy anything here I need GOG to still be around, and I'm not sure huge quantities of porn and anime dating sims are going to cut it :D

But anyway, I judging by most replies I came off too strong and not clear enough about my concerns. I think I'll just shut up now, and wait to see how things turn out with further releases in the coming weeks and months.

I enjoyed Escape from Butcher Bay more than Assault on Dark Athena. As Riddick would put it... The dead...should stay dead.
Nonetheless, they're both great games, highly recommended. GOG should bring them back.

Some of you folks are impossible to please and I say this as one of the biggest known complainers here, lol.

I thought GOG did pretty well over the last half year or so in terms of what I'd consider big releases (mind you, I would have wanted to purchase all of them but didn't, due to my belief GOG has shifted too far from DRM-free).

But let's see, we had the Star Treks already mentioned, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (granted it's expensive), Just Cause 1 and 2, Legacy of Kain, some missing Tomb Raiders earlier on. And I may be missing another one or two.

I am also actively in favor of GOG bringing more adult games here. I see no reason (beyond if religio-cultural baggage has been internalized) to object to such releases or act as though they are making the store "look bad."
