Multiplayer uses steamworks I think.

Yeah but then people here would be like "OMG how to they dare to treat us as second-class citizens! No multiplayer, no achievements, no badges, no snowballs, no Steam-friends, no native Steam Controller support, no integration with Steam forums, no free poster with Gaben's face on it..." etc. etc.

I personally would also be fine with a single-player only version on GOG, but some others apparently feel the game shouldn't be sold on GOG at all if it misses anything from the Steam version.
It's like a lot of the series here ac1, farcry 1 (which bucks the trend of being a great game)- farcry 2. mostly get the oldest and worst of the series, whilst all other go on uplay or steam. It's not going to change I am afraid.
Thanks to SCPM more than to me, we've found some indication of Sniper Elite V2 in the mires of GOG's APIs, and it seems to be actively worked on. As to when it will release, that is anyone's guess.

I'm one of the resident GOG API analyst-astronomers, but I don't work for GOG - it's mostly a hobby. I can't say more about it because, obviously, people working for GOG do read these posts :).

I would not make the assumption that GOG hasn't contacted them. GOG is pretty proactive with farming the entire game publishing industry to bring all games old and new to their storefront in an ongoing basis. It's how they make money afterall, so they have strong incentives to do this.

If a game is not available here in the store, the safe assumption to make is not that GOG hasn't tried, but rather that either the publisher is not interested at all, or they have not yet taken it upon themselves to do the work necessary to make such an arrangement to sell their games in the GOG store. Bringing games to the GOG store is in most cases going to require some re-engineering of a game, in particular games which have multi-player and other features that customers would expect.

To assume GOG is ignoring such games is a disservice to the hard work GOG does to continuously expand their DRM-free catalogue by building and maintaining relationships with publishers and other entities in the gaming industry.
i dnt mean to offend GOG me sorry :(, its just that the first sniper elite is here and v2 came out 6 years ago

I don't think anyone is offended. Rather just explaining how things actually work at the store, which makes it much easier to understand why some games are here and some are not. A company has to actually want to sell their game at a store first, and then has to do any engineering on it that is necessary in order to release it there first, and both the store and the publisher/developer have finite resources so even if they want to do it sometime it may not be their highest priority at any given moment. There are lots of threads discussing this stuff here in the GOG forums over the years. GOG has went into some level of detail themselves about how they go about things on their end also, and discussed it in interviews over time too. I miss those Marcin Iwinski and Destro videos, maybe they'll make more sometime. :)
