I have troubles to run SimCity 4 properly on my Windows 8 system

When i launch the game it seems to load but all i see shortly is a black screen then it automatically goes back to desktop screen.

i still can see the game running and the icon on the task bar. it seems not really to crash. but i just cant really get into the game. When i click on the sim city 4 icon on the task bar it automatically goes back to desktop. all i see is a black screen for 2-4 seconds.

can anyone help?
