rtcvb32: I recall also having an issue with ToME with resolution, thankfully there was a safemode listed in the launcher letting me get to the settings and reset the settings to something useful my system could support...
"Look at the size of that @ ... alright, who made the ASCII 48 point?"
overall misguided understanding of what is wrong. Its very simple cryengine always uses highest refresh rate available for your resolution. Thus he most likely overclocked his monitor and messed with it. Unlocking other refresh rates that do not work for him. Thus is the problem here.
I didn't overclock anything at all. It works now though finally.
The games are probably just asking the operating system for a list of available resolutions and picking the best one available. For some reason, the operating system has wrong information and an entry with outrageous specs at top. The games then pick that, knowing no better, and cause you grief.

HeresMyAccount: I screwed with this some more and it finally works!

tinyE: One day I'm going to write a 'How to/Fix it' manual called 'Screw With It Until It Works".

I'm gonna make millions!
Great idea! And once you get it going, make certain to NOT explain what you did in order to get it to work. Because, ya know, people love guessing gamesl. It's like two games in one, and who doesn't want more games?

That made me think of this, although it seems to overall discourage the idea.
Somewhere in here there's a link to a more specific post I made and I put the solution there.

Rixasha, I want to frame that and hang it on my wall!
What version of win have you got. If it's w8, that's your real problem. In which case you'll need to either "downgrade" to win7 prof. (altho I use the term "downgrade" it is, of course, anything but a downgrade). Or alternatively you need to buy a recent model 2nd hand pc with w7 installed. Problem. Reaction. Solultion. ;-)
Nope it's Windows 7 64 bit.
