men i'd like to make some neverwinter nights 1 mods but i can't think of any nice clean story - instead i'd like to make a mod as dirty as it can possibly get - with black men, jokers, backstreet women, mofos, that kind of thing. but i don't even know if people would appreciate this genre because from all mods of nwn1 that i have, i never heard of one like this. and besides it would take me lot of time to learn modding. so should i try or not

That is a question that only you can answer.
Must of started already...

If you really believe that the presence of "black men" is a feature that will make your mod more "dirty", then I can only advise to stay far, far away from modding, as well as from this community here. I'm _really_ hoping that this was just a language problem and that you do not really think in such stupid, atrocious stereotypes that discredit millions of human beings simply because of their skin color.

Regarding mods with a gritty setting and atmosphere - I think the Shadowrun games may have some mods that fit the bill, since their cyberpunk/fantasy world is pretty dark already. The game also seems to attract decent writers.

Many games have "dirty" mods, however, unfortunately (and it hurts me to say that) 95% of them are just immature crap cobbled together by some kid who thought that it would be "cool" to have such a "badass" setting. They usually do not show any understanding how such communities work, nor are they able to present them in a way that would it make enjoyable playing the mod, unless perhaps the player is as immature as the designer.

If you're considering to _start_ modding, though, the most important advice that can be given to is to start small, anyway. Ideas are cheap and come fast. It's the implementation that takes 95% of the work. Also, you need a clear concept of what you want to achieve. Your very short descriptiion does not give me the impression that you have an interesting story to tell, but rather that you want to create some stereotypical "bad" setting. Such an approach does not seem very appealing to me.

Surely I can't be the only one to hope he didn't consider his words too carefully? I mean jokers and mofos, etc. I can't help but draw imagery of a blaxploitation film played either seriously, like Shaft or Foxy Brown, or satirical, like I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of NWN, but a module in either style, for some reason, amuses me to no end and would have me reinstalling NWN with a quickness.

Hmm, drowsploitation? Half-orc sploitation? I dunno but someone make this happen!

I _hope_ so too, that's why I bothered to write an answer instead of simply reporting the post. Or that he's trolling, in which case I would just have wasted 5 minutes, but I can live with that. ;)

I've only seen one other thread by him, earlier this week and it was... eccentric. I haven't ruled out him trolling, but as you mentioned above it could be a language issue. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

i was thinking of a story like "wyvern crown of cormyr" a mod i recently finished playing.. :( so you have a brother and he's not very smart - at one point he finds a ring, gets possessed by a spirit and even tries to kill you later on. i also watched a video from aphex twin - windowlicker.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBS4Gi1y_nc

so i'm thinking there should be you and your brother just like the guys in the video. and after a hard day's work you return home while your brother talks your ear off saying he horny etc and he wants to rape some woman. and as you walk along a river with your bro you notice a woman bathing - that's when your brother goes berserk and rapes her! :D so that moment should divide the game in 2 - either you help your brother because he's family or you don't and that makes him your enemy. it also sounds a bit like call of juarez 2: bound in blood except they were 3 brothers and a woman who seduces them
