Are you installing to a folder outside windows folders? Install to something like c:/mygames. Should fix in most instances.

You can call the folder anything you like, I install my games to c:/games/blood for instance if the game in question was blood. In the installer when you double click on it you can specify a place to install to. Or are you using galaxy? If so there is an option somewhere to specify install location, but I cant help with that as don't use it. Just make sure its outside program files and program file (x86) as they are under UAC.

I wouldn't turn off uac, just installing outside windows folders should be enough.
