ToppestOfDogs: Shenmue I&II just came out on Steam, and it turns out it's (nearly) DRM free. No Denuvo, not even Steamworks. All you have to do is create a file called "steam_appid.txt" with the app ID (758330) in it and it works offline, without Steam, just like a GOG game.
I think this is a good opportunity for GOG to talk to SEGA about getting the game on GOG. Since they wouldn't have to change anything other than replacing Steams functions with Galaxy's, it seems like a (relatively) easy grab.
Sadly, this doesn't indicate anything. Long ago, last official patch removed DRM from Alpha Protocol. So, there is interesting game from SEGA with officially removed DRM already for a few years now. And nothing happened! There is still no SEGA games, even those which DRM was removed by developers, on GOG.

Which is makes me wonder if SEGA doesn't mind DRM-free for some games but just not explicitly DRM-free unless the games are really old (like how they and DotEmu came to an agreement)? It's so bizarre unless SEGA is holding some kind of grudge if GOG rejected the SEGA classics that DotEmu got. :p

Probably lol

No, but seriously, their behavior makes no sense. If you have an old game that has no DRM and can be easily pirated, then wouldn't it make sense to try to profit from that game as much as possible?

DreamedArtist: How was that game? I wanted to play it at the time but got burnt out on games due to working at EB games here in Canada lol.

wolfsite: I enjoyed it. It's made by Obsidian so you can check there back log of games but it plays similar to what Bioware has made at the time of release just based in modern times rather than in a fantasy or futuristic setting. It has some minor bugs but nothing that hampers gameplay (Don't start with SMG's, and I will be honest picking pistol and Stealth can break the game when you put enough points into them.)
Cool! I have a friend who owns a disc copy and I am sure it is DRM Free. thanks.
