Did you send your vote to Pooka by now?

We've been waiting for it since last year.

Happy "Don't Break Rule 9" Year

PookaMustard: Happy "Don't Break Rule 9" Year
I am guessing not many will be in for a bit due to hangovers, etc.

(Also thanks for being considerate of this/etc and not being too harsh with a likely tipsy/forgetful Microfish :))

And also Welcome to 2020, everyone!
I just learned that Micro had sent his vote in earlier today, but GOG didn't notify me about him sending messages.

That leaves us with the Joe.

Well y'all know what that means...we need to all tell Joe: Hurry up and choose already....but choo-choo-choose wisely, of course.

Last DECADE, even. :)

That's true!

@Joe: all the more reason to return to the 20-es with us!

If decades can be arbitrary, then why limit ourselves? I say last millennium.

If you read the thread where this is brought up(Happy New Year Thread) you'd see the wiki link where it's brought up that most(around 70%+) commonly use the following numbering system for decades: 00s/10s/20s/30s/40s/50s/etc, with the first year with the leading number starting that decade. :)

Which means that the first "decade" had only 9 years: 1 to 9.

If we can arbitrarily start a decade any year (all you need is 50% + of people?) then I say that millenniums start xx20 and end xx19. Sure this system means that the first millennium only lasted 19 years, but if a decade can last 9 years, then a millennium can last 19.

True, but that's partially the fault of whoever started that calendar system/dating system and chose that as the starting year.

That's usually how global cultural/other norms/standards work or get adopted....when the majority agree upon and use them. Yes, it sucks for those who disagree, but those are sadly the breaks...we don't always end up on the "winning team" in life(when it comes to standards/beliefs that are favored more and promoted more). :\
Piss on global norms. I start millenniums on xx20 because that's the kind of person I am.
