Hi there community! I just wanted to take some screenshots from SPAZ but failed :( It seems the game doesn't have that function at all. Steam has F12 as a default key for screen capture but some GOG games as the above rely to much on it and haven't implemented it otherwise. So please recommend me the lightest and simplest screen capture program you use. I prefer something that runs on the background from the system tray, is completely freeware - no ads, no shareware, no demos and is simple like 1 button for screen capture and the captured frame is directly saved in a predefined directory. Also please no logos on the screenshots.
Back at the day I used FRAPS for all this stuff, and more, but now it seems to me as to heavy with lots of functionality that I don't need.

If you're running Windows, did you try Alt+Print Screen?

PrtScn [button to the right of F12]

That what I use, hit prtscn, alt+tab out of the game, fire up Paint, and paste [via paste option in edit]
Print screen via keyboard?
Windows 7 has a Snipping tool with which you can select which part of the screen you want and then save the result for later use.

edit-ah sorry -misunderstood the question-you want a screenshot from a running game, aka a not-paused one? If yes, what I proposed won't do-just disregard me, I'm rather tired right now and thus misunderstood the question...

I'm curious if there are new free good programs too.

In the past I used Hypersnap: it was lighweight, worked in background, had auto-numbering, region select, customizable key-combos, but.. it was commercial.
I use MSI AfterBurner to take screenshots in my games.
I used to use Gadwin Printscreen a few years ago.
I used greenshot a long time ago, but it refuses to work for me now.
I'm sorry I haven't been clear - Print Screen doesn't work roughly half the time when I'm in some game - I get the desktop instead. And when I'm in some shitty video player that doesn't have screenshot functionality print screen never works - I got current frame or black frame. The best will be if the app is portable :)
Fraps is the winner here. Screenshots are one of the points of it.
If you use "Add a Non-Steam Game" and run the game through Steam you can use its screenshot function.

I didn't reinstal it recently but it still work as intended.

In my configuration it is set to initiate a box shot and save it automatically (and for OP, I am pretty sure you can set it to capture and save the active window automatically, didn't use that feature recently though so you would have to test)

Edit : I checked and in fact it always makes a 'box-shot' when pressing 'Print', but 'Alt+Print' does a window capture and 'Ctrl+Print' does the print screen (with automated not watermarked png in my case)
