Hi,

When you play the game using the offline installer, all your settings except graphics ( like key bindings) aren't saved. The game also doesn't save your character outfit. Everytime you restart the game, everything is back to default.

This seems to be a GOG-only issue since people using Galaxy or the other platforms aren't affected.

I already contacted support but I thought that posting here would help to get a fix .

Please Gog do something about it! Thanks ;)
Can anyone else confirm this?

I found this topic in the saints row forum reporting the same issue:

Thank you for the link, so this is not an isolated issue. Not good then, hopefully someone will take a look at the build.
Game was probably designed to use clients to save settings somehow, and GOG overlooked it. Hopefully they fix it. Does the problem persist if you use Galaxy to install and launch the first time, but then run without it?

Galaxy is conquering your games, one game at a time :)

if you bought it recently just refund it as it doesn't work as intended

Some time ago a friend of mine bought the GOG version of Hollow Knight and I think the achievements are totally broken, the only way to see them is by running the game through Galaxy.

Gog Galaxy conflict

"A lot of users report an empty achievements menu option. Uninstall Gog Galaxy client can fix the issue."

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Hollow_Knight#Issues_unresolved

Of course, GoG has done NOTHING to fix this problem.

In general SR3Re is a disappointment. It is very buggy, and I blame lazy devs. I am asking for a refund currently. Its not worth 13 euros if you own the original.

a) Post these in the proper forum (the Saints Row game discussion forum)

b) If you're having technical issues with a game, make a GOG support ticket like everyone else.

To be fair, uninstalling GoG Galaxy sounds like it fixes the issue :D

I ran the game without Galaxy and everything ran fine, all saves, outfits and so on remained.

My characters outfits gets saved just fine; but the key binding issue is somewhat annoying.

After taking the time to play a little more, I can confirm that I'm not affected by the outfit bug reported by another memeber on the forum ( maybe it was just a game bug). But the key bindings and gameplay options always resetting is a real issue...

I don't have SR3 Remastered but it seems in my opinion the problem is GOG testing games with Galaxy rather than the (DRM-free) approach of first making sure games run WITHOUT the client. Hopefully the issue in this game is fixed soon like it was with Deus Ex Mankind Divided DLC which iirc at launch was completely inaccessible without the online DRM, er, I mean the use of the optional client. It is embarrassing that this is happening with big name releases.

Certainly developers and publishers are to blame for this bass-ackwards poor design of relying on clients for everything (turns out the "conveeeeenience" they always use as a defense/excuse for clients is a convenience for THEM, not so much the customer). However, GOG surely "knows the score" at this point, as it were...GOG should actively be ensuring games are DRM-free and playable without the client before testing anything with the client.
