So I read that the gog.com version of Saits Row 2 multilayer is only playable through LAN.

Saints Row 2 also used GameSpy for multiplayer.

Please gog.com for the love of god, CD Projekt RED did the porting and has access to the source code, please add Dedicated Servers and a Server Browser List so we can play multiplayer.

This is why I made this GoG Galaxy wishlist.

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/dedicated_servers_both_official_and_rentable

I seriously hope CD Projekt RED and gog.com employees have a lot of very good experience with netcode and all that stuff. You know the ones who are in charge of the multiplayer aspects of GoG Galaxy, matchmaking, etc.

I will only then purchase Saints Row 2 from gog.com.
People don't care about this?

Do people even care about multiplayer at all on gog.com?

Well hopefully gog.com listens about Dedicated Servers, because Peer to Peer (P2P) sucks.

VALVe offers rentable Dedicated Servers for their Steamworks integrated video games if video game developers choose it.

You have to realize Peer to Peer (P2P) and matchmaking to a extent sucks compared to just joining a server through a server browser list.

This won't be just about Saints Row 2.

It's about all future video games.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Far Cry 3, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Tomb Raider (2013), Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4 and all other video games that use Peer to Peer (P2P) or matchmaking.

no not really
most of the games on here are strictly offline single player experiences

as for me i dont give a flying fuck about multiplayer
never bothered with saints row 2's multiplayer element
not gonna start now either

and i sank 50 hours in the pc version
you could just use radmin or hitachi if your playing with someone over the internet, while you can only have 5 players, thats better than nothing

that's quite a necro...

Still, in case I can help with the thread, not sure what are the limitations of SR2's LAN multiplayer, but maybe you could get more than 5 players, since, from what I remember reading, some tools for LAN connection over the internet allow increasing the amount of slots per connection. The ones I checked require paying for that, tho, while the basic 5 slots is free.
