Hi, I need some help I bought Homeworld cataclysm on GOG, but so far I was not able to start it neither with Glide or with Windows Application compability toolkit (even though I had to download a 1GB worth of tools to get that one).

Can anyone give any help? I tried already all the guides on the forum even the command line arguments in the launch shortcut.
i wish i could but for me it was a instant hit on win 10 when running the game
It just continue to show a small black square for like 10 seconds, then it disappear and the launch button on GOG galaxy becomes green again
...
Edit just updated GOG galaxy, so now it is a purple button.. lol :D

Check you're running it in compatability mode for xp service pack 2 and as an administrator.

Working here on windows 10 with just those settings.

I really can’t believe how many times I still have to say this:
Never install anything to program files or program files x86!!
Never do it, for any program!

Second up, if something doesn’t work, close galaxy completely and run the game from the installed game. Half the time you will get better information than just a grey button turning back to green.

What is the a.txt and b.txt for, what is in or are those files for?
If you DON'T use Galaxy to install your games you can MANUALLY choose EVERY location you install a game to. It's so easy even a caveman can do it.

Moral of the story, ditch Galaxy. It's DRM.

You meant for any *game* I imagine.
Btw it baffles me that Galaxy's devs didn't plan to show a warning if the games folder is located in Program Files -_-'
