As a sound-thinking person, I found EAX (and other positional audio) added to my enjoyment of games -- especially FPS games -- immensely. I got a 7.1 system just for them. And then newer versions of Windows came out to eliminate backwards compatibility with it, and newer games have dropped it altogether.

Rumble/etc - huge, huge detriment. They don't add anything whatsoever to games, except discomfort (pains, minor injuries). Sadly, sometimes they can't be turned off. (Oh hey, that's one of the things the XBone got rid of from previous generations of consoles: global disabling of rumble.

Motion controls: not for me, but I can see how it is for some. There are various games (largely from the Wii...) that I'll never be able to enjoy because of the awkward controls.

3D: I don't see it adding to *game play*, so why the big deal? Especially since it 'properly done' (to paraphrases the believers out there), it needs to be paired with motion controls. Remember, I am primarily trying to play a game. Considering how it doesn't add shit even to passive experiences like movies (and usually is a downside in them...), to call me a skeptic is to sugar-coat it.
