Hey guys, I'm new to GOG and was wondering what some of the best RPG/JRPG's that are available on the site are?

So many!

Dragons Dogma is possibly my favorite on the site.

Baldurs gate is also amazing.
And Icewind Dale.

Temple of Elemental Evil is possibly my favorite turn based RPG, but the Divinity Original Song games are also quite increidble.

Witcher 2 and 3 great. Some even love 1. I might love it one day.

Spiderweb games have some of the best stories.

Might and magic can give you old school fun.

Morrowind and Oblivion and even Arena and Daggerfall are great.

Honestly, GOG is a curated collection and just about all of their RPGs are amazing in some way.

This list is not complete without Darklands.

The game has obviously aged a lot, but it was revolutionary when it came out... and then failed to meet sales expectations, so no planned sequels.

If you can get over the graphics and the somewhat limited content (though it will take you a while to go over it all the first time), the game is still a fantastic combination of roleplaying and sandbox. All dressed in an intriguing combination of old folklore/christian dogma and historical "accuracy."

For that matter, I don't think there's any other game that does all that Darklands did in 1992.

Haven't played any of The Witcher games but will do in 2019 starting with the first one. How come 1 isn't as good as the other two? Should I skip it?

waves802: haven't played that many RPGs, but I lurv me some Morrowind :D
Obviously the Fallout series (especially New Vegas which manages to have the strong setting and stories of F1 and 2 but with an actual decent UI and graphics).

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines is a hoot. Great characters, great music.

On the JRPG front, you're better off with console emulators. I think the Grandia series is the only classic ones that have been ported to PC.

Witcher 1 is great and the best one of the three, and also the only one that lets you be with many women and collect artful cards of them.

OK, so down to personal taste then.

Definitely personal taste.

However, it suffers with telling a story that makes no sense to an outsider with an aged battle system (very similar the Summoner's) and slow pacing.

I've wanted to go back to it now that I understand the characters and setting and factions better. But I was utterly list when I played it.

I was lost in Witcher 2 also, but when u started it the second time, it made sense. It may be the fact that sometimes I don't pay good attention to dialog when I'm in certain moods.

Anyway, most say Witcher 3 is the best, some say it's the best game ever made. I'd have to agree that it's spectacular. But I also looked Witcher 2 really good, too, and possibly even more.

Witcher is a good one to play.
